It's a lot easier to complete 61% of passes and throw no picks when you're only throwing the ball 4 yards down field.

They should cut him after two games and swallow the 30+ million guaranteed!

Kids a bum!

I get the sneaking suspicion he’s gonna be a solid nfl QB for a long time, but you may feel differently. We will see.

....so?

He did his part. Thanks.

No, he didn't.

The Bengals were down 12 points with 3:55 left. They had no timeouts. They needed two scores.

So what did they do?

Went on a 16-play drive that took 3:11. Completed only 3 passes over 10 yards.

Onside kick failed.

Cleveland kneels twice.

Game over.

If the goal isn't to win the game and is just to pad Burrow's stats then mission accomplished.

37/61 316 yds 3 TDs is doing your part in ANY football league on the planet.... especially for a rookie with no preseason at all.

NFL QBs routinely put up poor numbers and still win games in the NFL.

Burrow had a good night. The Bengals not so much. Defense gave up over 200 yards rushing.

If the Bengals are going to count on Joe Burrow to win every game for them they probably won't win any games this year.

Keep us all posted on that AYP stat though.

Im from Cincinnati, but Im a Dolphins fan, so I have a semi unique perspective on this, since almost every friend or family member is a Bengals fan and there's always get togethers to watch Bengals games.

The vibe in Cincinnati is that the Offensive Line is absolutely terrible. The running game can't get anything going because of how awful the line is, which makes it a lot easier for defenses to dial in on Burrow. The Browns just sent blitzers almost every play in the 2nd half, giving him no time to throw. The Defense was absolutely terrible against the Browns. Also most fans think AJ Green looks slow and injured. And Burrows favorite target so far, Uzomah, went out with a torn achilles.

For the most part,  Burrow looks very solid given his experience and looks like he has a very high football IQ and situational awareness. Get him a decent OLine and he has a very high ceiling IMO.

As a Dolphins fan, I would rather have Burrow than just about every other QB we've had in the last 20 years.

It’s way to early to make any career predictions on Burrow.  For now just admit he looks pretty damn solid as NFL QB.

Like any NFL team they must build team around him so he can really perform.  I don’t care how talented the QB is...without solid team around him, he will underwhelm at some point.

Russell Wilson did and does a good job carrying the entire Seahawks organization on his back.

His teams have had good talent around him.  He was really not all that the year they won the super bowl.  His defense has mostly been good over the years.  He is much better now than he was early in his career

He was 13-3, 63% completion, 3,896 total yards, 26 TDs, 9 INTs, 8.5 AY/A, and a 101.2 QB Rating.

If you look at Wilson's stats now, he's only gotten better most of the years since then. To me, he's one of the most underrated QBs because no one really finds him outstanding (because he's just amazing every year).
