One was an all great NFL qb. None were special in college. Peyton has never been the best qb at any level.

Brady in the pros

Danny in college

Trying to argue Peyton was not all that much because he wasn’t Brady is silly.  And Eli had a better later career than 99.99% of HS QBs.  Saying they weren’t good because the competition is subpar is nonsense.  Derrick Henry wasn’t much in HS, eh?

Derrick Henry was the best HS running back ever.  Holds yardage and td record.

This is just another recruited up private school with the Manning name backing them.

No, that would be false too.

You have a habit of saying very silly stuff......often!

Newman has NEVER had this kind of offensive firepower. It's why Peyton and Eli never won a state title at Newman.

If Newman recruited they would recruit a defense to match the offense talent wise...it just ain't happening.

Had over 100 yards rushing against a stingy Buford defense.

Wouldnt call Buford crappy competition in any conversation, drunk or high.

First of all, that was an exception as far as their opponents.  Second 100+ yards was way below his average.  Buford was better than Yulee, does not reflect on Henry’s obvious talent.

If "I" committed the Newman offense for fun using their best offers it might look like this so far.

QB-LSU/Alabama

RB/Slot-McNeese St

WR LSU (committed already)

WR Florida St

TE Florida St

OC LSU (committed already)

...a lot of big schools and schools pimped here will NOT have that.

All Newman has to do offensively is fill some gaps in their off season and they will have the makings of a nice offense....on paper.

Defensively, I don't expect Newman to be very much honestly.

Exactly, no O-line or defense. A few good players decided to ride the Manning train and pad stats. There’s no way of knowing how good they are until college, everything else is just speculation.

Granted that 67 yard td run was late with the bench in the game.

Henry looked like a building running down the field when he got loose.

I think Fulmer was pretty certain Peyton was good.  Small school players are recruited not just because someone is hoping to get lucky.

It was Cutcliffe that got Peyton not that scum Fulmer.  Cutcliffe is why Eli went to Ole Miss. Some Ole Miss think Cutcliffe retires this year and Kiffin hires him as qb coach to insure Arch goes to Ole Miss.

Plus Peyton never beat Florida or Danny Wuerffel.

Of course there’s always a unicorn in the bunch but the record books are littered with small school quarterbacks and receivers that couldn’t handle the big time competition.

As there are with large school players. Good coaches find talent in many places.

Well, 2 of them will be in the Under Armour All American game, so I guess they measured up....do you know of another school that has 2 kids committed to the game yet?

Anyways, Newman is NOT a national power...they are a geek school with 7 or 8 really nice players. They have a couple on defense. They lack depth though.

They might win a state title this year.
