Only on this message board could two teams play twice in the same season, one team end up +2 and be winning the rematch in the 4th quarter without their two best receivers and two best cornerbacks and the reaction be that the other team was just better.

It's the perfectly lazy and cliche argument that you'd expect around here.

Both teams had key players out. According to many, led by the SoCal contingent who sound like they are extremely close to the Georgia program, UGA was without their best QB. No way Alabama would have been +2 if Georgia's best QB would have been out there dismantling the Tide in those games.

Alabama had 30 Yards rushing vs Georgia with an average of 1.1 Yards per rush....almost as terrible as the LSU game.

Atticus wants people to ignore that.

Georgia was the more dominant and complete team this season and won the National Championship.

That's a wrap.

Exactly what I was talking about.

The more dominant team played 120 minutes against Alabama and was outscored.

The reason this board always does things like this is because it's populated by silly posers and fanboys who only know sports through tired cliches.

And they won the first game and were winning the second game in the 4th quarter.

This is the kind of irrelevant, cherry-picked statistic that anybody could find if they wanted.

Blah, blah and blah..

Was this the first Alabama team NOT to have a rushing TD in a Champ Game? Oh yeah, most ikely....it's why they LOST and why they had to throw the ball 60 times.

POINTS

Alabama: 59

Georgia: 57

YARDS

Alabama: 935

Georgia: 813

YARDS PER PLAY

Georgia: 6.06

Alabama: 6.03

Only deluded fanboys who spout silly cliches could've watched those games, or looked at these numbers, and concluded that Georgia "was just better."

Georgia didn't score an offensive touchdown against Clemson.

Silly fanboys claim that the QB "smacked up" Clemson.

Truth is dead with these clowns.

At the time Georgia beat Clemson, most of us thought it was an epic win, a road win over a top 5 team with an excellent offense. And so that was the impression seared into most people’s minds. That Clemson proved to be dramatically less than that assumption was mostly lost. People can’t adjust their opinions as the facts change. The first impression is often the forever impression.

This is a good point and one I was thinking about as well.

The bias in this case is that people thought Georgia was the better team the entire season. So even though they lost the first game, the confirmation bias came in the second game.

Chris Weinke was 28.....and, both Weinke and Burrow have National Championship Rings. Too bad Bryce Young was not mature enough to get it done, maybe next year!

1978 Billy Sims 23 years,

2000 Chris Weinke 28 years,

Congrats! Suck Ohio Joe some more! Joes first year as a starter was very forgettable. Embarrassing really. I’ll bet you any amount of money over 1K you want that Alabama wins the natty next year. 6 figures is fine. Just have to post proof of funds. Or run away and blow Ohio joe. It is what it is junior!
