King is from my current town and we have a city park named in honor of him and his cousins who were fellow prep All-Americans on the track. We knew going into this meet that the boys race in Region 2-6A was going to be exciting. It had the defending UIL 6A boys state champions Klein Forest and last year's runner-ups Duncanville in the fields. Added hype came from the Duncanville's two sub 40-second runs this season. The hype did not disappoint! Yet only 2 can go to State out of each region. This Region will likely have the best time of the non top 2 and get that last team in.
