I say "potentially" because it somewhat depends on whether the U.S. citizen was aware that they were helping Russians. That's a call that needs to be made by the prosecutor. I thought Mark Halperin gave good political insight but he was banished. I think Andrew McCarthy at the National Review has a good handle on the Russia stuff. Dershowitz also has an interesting take, mainly because he is a liberal, but not real partisan.

So we are left with an indictment on process (fake accounts) but not on the substance (collusion). Pretty thin gruel for such a massive investigation. zulu1128
Rob Goldman @robjective Most of the coverage of Russian meddling involves their attempt to effect the outcome of the 2016 US election. I have seen all of the Russian ads and I can say very definitively that swaying the election was *NOT* the main goal.
zulu1128
Rob Goldman @robjective The majority of the Russian ad spend happened AFTER the election. Russians attempt to sow discord, confusion and false information. Below is a link showing how false information overload affects us. It's a very interesting 5 minute read that BOTH sides of the political spectrum need to understand. It shows how trump uses the same PROPAGANDA tactics that Russian intelligence services use and how it affects our thinking. https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2017/08/trump-nonstop-lies/

The point was to defeat Hillary by promoting Trump, Bernie Sanders and Jill Stein and to cause chaos before and after the election. You need to review the Mueller indictment of the 13 Russians and 3 Russian organizations and see that they did more than just place ads on Facebook and actually includes coming to the U.S.with false IDs to create discord. Without completely disregarding Rob Goldman's input, he does have a vested interest in downplaying Facebook's part in the 2016 election. You need to re-read the article and try to understand it better. You obviously don't get it yet. Keep trying.

OK, so do you disagree with anything in the Mother Jones article? If so, why? My standing question still hasn't been answered by any trumpster: If Congress voted bi-partisan 517-5 to increase sanctions on Russia, why didn't Cadet Bone Spurs sign and enforce it? What are the trumpsters trying to hide? You know another thing that bothers me. Rick Gates, Paul Manafort's cohort was first reported last night to be going to plead guilty by the Los Angeles Times. This is really a big story, because Manafort's part is now severely going to be exposed even more, which will put more pressure on Manafort to deliver the goods on what actually happened. How come the important stories on the Russian investigation are always broken by the traditional main stream media? Why didn't this story originate on FOX News, or some rightwing rag? It's always the guys like NY Times, Washington Post or in this case the L.A. Times that are deemed as "fake news" organizations. Why is that? Looks to me like the "reporters" on the right aren't very good or very forthcoming with the truth while the reporters from mainstream media continually clean their clock. So fuck the constitution because nor knows this guy is mental? And it is just not u nor this is how most of libs think. You don't want gun control. You want population control. You guys don't need laws to take guns if you had your way just a feeling someone (Manafort) is mental is enough to ban him from owning a weapon.
