HawgGoneIt
Supreme Court Won't Hear California Case On Gun Waiting Periods By Bill Galluccio February 20, 2018 17 The Supreme Court handed the state of California a victory when it turned down a challenge to the state's ten-day waiting period for firearm purchases reports CNBC. The refusal to hear the case is a setback for the NRA and gun-rights activists who attempted to argue the waiting period was unconstitutional. The group, led by Jeff Silvester along with the Second Amendment Foundation, said they did not object to first-time gun buyers from having to wait ten days to obtain a firearm. Instead, they argued that the waiting period should only apply to first-time buyers, and that repeat buyers had already passed the required checks. California argued the waiting period would help lower gun-related crime and give officials time to conduct background checks. Justice Clarence Thomas dissented against the court's decision not to hear the case. He said the "the Second Amendment is a disfavored right in this court." "If a lower court treated another right so cavalierly, I have little doubt this court would intervene," Thomas wrote. "But as evidenced by our continued inaction in this area, the Second Amendment is a disfavored right in this court." The Supreme Court has been hesitant to wade into the gun control debate in recent years. It has not heard a major firearms case since 2010. The court also refused to hear a case brought by the NRA that challenged the high fees that California tacks onto firearm sales.

The constitution and second amendment 'does provide for it'....it's other people and other laws that seek to outlaw such ownership... That being said, I agree with your entire premise of 'wild west' and reasonable weapons control...

What took you so long LOL It's not that hard of a trick... The real question is how long have you known concha endorses Lavrentiy Beria. Even that's not important. I think we all understand concha better now though.

I had known the avatar since I first saw it several years ago. But I did not assume that it was any 'specific endorsement'. Many show Trump or Hillary as well and in fact do it for quite the opposite reason. (possibly very familiar to yourself RZ) I think he might have even explained or eluded to it way back when, but can't remember, so maybe not... It is a very interesting choice though, perhaps Concha will shed some further light on the subject.

NO, I supported Hillary.......I ran with a Hillary "avatar" for support and fun.... I don't see anything humorous or fun about Lavrentiy Beria. BUT, the jerk questions a Hillary avatar? Really. Perhaps 'dead serious' or 'not funny' was the tone he was looking to set...but unless he states otherwise, I cannot take the display as any specific 'endorsement'... maybe we will find out? As i said...could be interesting...
