Clearly Texas don't be messing around either.

Look at these kids.  Flat out getting it.   Whenever you see Desoto in 6th place best believe it was some serious speed in front of them. 🤣

Just to emphasize how ridiculously fast this 6A state final was last year...

MNW has the current #1 at 40.36  (that's 7th in that race).

AHP had a nation leading 40.17 one season I believe and that wouldn't have landed a top 3 spot.

Running a sub 40 and not winning.

In Feb. I read an article where 4-5 teams were below 40.6 in a meet race where Calabar DQ'd (lane violation on anchor).   Kingston College won days ago with a sub 40 and Calabar with a limping Stephens at the finish ran a sub 40.2 I believe, but after that I think there was separation...  will check and modify below.

image.thumb.png.dfaa4007fdf469b0663c11ba6d2d330d.png

I seriously doubt MNW's 40.36 will hold through TX's finish.   Will the 2019 4x100 states be as impressive?   Looking fwd to finding out.

Looking at Calabar's squad, including Christian Taylor... what a wicked group.   Hope they and Kingston College race at the Penn Relays.

Boling is a beast.  Probably a real threat to medal in Olympics for the 200, 400, and long jump. Or, he could dominate the decathlon and win gold. His Sprint and jump times would be so far ahead of the field.

Easy now... we are talking about the United States here.   Noah Lyles broke a HS national record and didn't qualify for the Olympic team (he was real close though as was Michael Norman coming right out of HS to the US Olympic trials).

Boling is soon to be 19 years of age as a senior in HS and will have tremendous talent to race in every event he chooses from the collegiate level and the pros for the trials in June next year.    I like the Decathlon mention.  Can he sling a javelin?  :)    For sure a guy to follow and if he peaks at the right time for the trials, you never know, but it will be very hard to qualify in one event, never mind multiple.

I thought a few years back Tyrese Cooper would be in the 2020 mix, but at this point no chance.   Anthony Schwartz we will see if he can get his 100 lowered to attempt a trials qualification.    Also, Floridian Trayvon Bromell is likely healed and ready to start competing at a high level again.   I don't know if Marvin Bracy is racing or giving pro football still a go.

And like I said Texas can run with those Jamaican kids and if we Stack our Relay team like they do those Private/Colleges errrr HS in Jamaica.  Remember I reported last year in the Regional finals here were my 1st time seeing kids in HS run sub 21's in the 200.   That 6A Heat last year was smoking fast.

I KEEP TELLING PEOPLE THEY RUN 19YR OLDS AS WELL ON THOSE JAMAICAN TEAMS.   Yet they will go to the PENN Relays and smoke teams that wouldn't beat Many Texas 4A squads.  I wish Fl and Tx could get there against those kids.

As far as the 4x100, Taylor is the only 19 year old.   Boling will turn 19 June 20th and Cooper turned just turned 19 last month.   I will answer 181 about Boling, but both Cooper and Boling would be nice to see at the U20 Worlds.   Edit:  Scratch that,  the Worlds is 2020 and both won't be eligible then.

Here is what won the Penn Relays last year.  Now who follow HS T&F that don't think Texas could run with those kids,  Hell our 5A could run with those kids.  They have like one or two exceptional and the rest are like 5A here.  6 Texas 6A Schools would have finshed in the top.  Dematha Catholic would get smoked in Texas Just like they did here last Week and they are the Best East Coast Team.

PL SCHOOL/AFFILIATION MARK ATHLETES ID
1 Calabar  (Kingston, JAM) 39.51 Rosean Young, Christopher Wilson, Tyreke Wilson, Dejour Russell AB

Remember in the 4x100 Texas has been getting faster each year in both 4x100 and 4x200.   A Texas school will break FT. Worth Wyatt's National record soon in my opinion.  I don't see anything with those Jamaica Kids I don't see in Fl and Tx and that year Texas Smoked them in the 4x100 our fastest Kid ran against Smalling in the 100 in the same meet.

This is what happens when we stack a HS Track Team in the US.  3 Florida Kids and 1 La kid ran a freaking 3:03.35 in the 4x400 a few years back and before that 4 Texas HS kids ran a 3:06.73!!

and a Texas kid was right there in the 100 in 2016 with smalling their fastest kid.  wind was at 3.0 mph.  Jace Comick was right there with him and last year Anthony Swartz (Fl) Kid ran a wind legal 10.09 at the same meet.

1 Shivnarine Smalling Newell Comprehensive High School 10.08
2 Jace Comick Atascocita 10.09
3 Maxwell Willis 12 Archbishop Carroll High School (DC) 10.35

The 4 wind legal fastest kids in America.  No way Jamaica would smoke these kids.  I hope the 4 of them can get together.  A constant drumbeat Tx and Fl.  You can argue about Football, Basketball, Baseball.  But in T&F they have no other peers in America.  Martin from Tx is at a 4A School 🤣

I was talking 2024. When he's 23/24.

He might peak with 4 more years or fizzle out, hard to tell.  He certainly made great strides (pun intended) in his times and jumped over 2 feet further this season so far and I'm anxious like everyone else to see how he finishes the school year and perhaps he will participate in the Great Southwest Classic with Cooper among others.

Even though Boling or Cooper won't be eligible for the U20 World Champ next year,  I wanted to share the records of this event all-time and below this I will add the newly updated 2020 Olympics qualifying standard times and long jump distances too, which at first glance looked similar to the U20 all time best  (maybe not lol, we'll see soon enough).   Followed by Boling's PB so far in his young career of course... time will tell how far he goes, but even in 4 years he will be facing USA elites from college to pro and there aren't many slots available in the Trials to make the Olympic team.   Gotta be healthy and peaking at the right time and maybe get a little lucky also.

U20 all time championship records

100:  10.05

200:  20.17 (Michael Norman USA)

400:  44.66

Long jump:  8.20 meters (James Stallworth USA)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2020 Olympic qualifying standard

100:  10.05

200:   20.24

400:   44.90 (44.66 is a crazy low number for a standard lol, but still sub 45 is not easy)

Long jump:  8.22

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Boling PB

100:  10.22  (+1.3)

200:  20.58  (-1.2) so that's 20.4 range with a favorable wind

400:  46.51

Long jump:  8.01 (+1.8)   .19 meters = about 7 1/2 inches

Injury free, in 5 years, Boling could be a legit 9.9 in the 100, 19.6 200, and perhaps sub 44 in the 400. Probably could be in the low 28s in the long jump.

If he decides to specialize in one race, perhaps lower.

You are asking quite a bit of Boling...  unless he gets bit by a special spider good luck with any of those lofty suggestions.   I sure hope he continues to progress, but dang.

Wind legal *

55 Americans all-time have run a sub 10 flat.  *

7 Americans all-time have run a sub 19.7         *

11 Americans all-time have run a sub 44

8 Americans all-time have jumped over 28 feet   *

I do it's cultural.  That's the same as Small School Texas 4A Against the rest of America without Ca. Fl, Ga and Tx.  Fast is fast no matter how many people.  The reason Texas 4A is faster than Ohio and the NE big Schools is culture.  So again there is nothing there that is not done in the Big 2 here.  I am not comparing America to Jamaica.  I am comparing one Class in Texas and A few Classes in Florida.  I grasp it well.  They are a small island with a bunch of  homies that love Track and Field.  It's not really that crazy.   Florida and Texas have a  track culture as well.  Here it goes all the way back to the PVIL in Texas.  Jamaica is very fast no doubt.  They are on the Decline and the USA Is on the upswing.  Just like I said about the Japanese Just Watch.

If that is so impressive isn't kids from Texas 4A faster than All of Ohio much more impressive. Much smaller population yet faster.  Including the rest of the N.E.  It's about culture you love something you will be good at it.

Lets try this.  Speed is an event dominated by people of African Descent in the America's mostly (That's a fact).

Jamaica has a population that is 92% black.  Look up the Black Populations of Texas and Florida.  You see it really isn't as impressive as it appears on the surface.  Florida and Texas share the same passion with the sport and the results prove it. With similar demographics to Jamaica in the sport.  Easy to grasp.   I'm not taking anything away from them.  Great Country with Speed.  But otherwise they are marginal in T&F

How is Jamaica on a decline when you just looked at a kid who is 15 or 14 that ran a 10.20 last year?  Their guys don't go away either.  They have phenoms at every age group girls and boys.  The Japanese kid that runs at Florida is just another guy.  Having to constantly run against truly elite competition has taken a toll on him.  It's easy when you only have to get up for a couple of meets.

Watch this year and the following ones.  Just watch.  They will not be dominate like they were. Japanese Sprinters are not just other guys.  Just watch what I said.  They will not be as dominate.  Both the USA and Japan along with G.B. will give them hell

That is their 14 and 15 year olds.  This is a small island with a little over 4 million people.  You are still not grasping how crazy it is, for the Jamaicans to do what they do.

Top 3 could probably beat many decent HS squads in the US lol.   Sure these are special kids already being singled out, but my goodness 43 secs lol.

These are the guys you better watch out for.  Best stick game in the Business Japan smoking the USA with Lyles running a killer Anchor

Who was running with Lyles?  USA would never have to make up that much ground with a elite squad.  39.53 is all you needed to post.

World Relays in May :)   Was just reading about Canada training and competing at the FL relays.   De Grasse ran anchor (hope he's healthy).
