Don Bosco won a piece in 2009 and 2011......

What others states have NO Public MNCs?

It took years to recognize nj had good teams at that top why would they ?

I do know in 96 two publics finished top 25 and no bnu team finished in top 25 (back than only BC, sjr, and spp finished in USA polls while bosco  didn't until toal went there)

Hackensack (coached by toal) beat a loaded sjr team in 96.

Hoboken finished top 25 that year too I believe. Back than Hoboken was basically what Saint peters prep is today in terms of where the kids that lived in that area went to HS.

Hackensack in 2000 finished top 10 too I believe but have to check.

Edited... so in 96 Hoboken finished 10th and Hackensack was ranked 15th in final USA Today poll & Hackensack finished 9th in 2000.

Massillon, OH, Washington 10–0 Paul Brown NSNS

Pine Bluff, AR 11–0–1 Allen Dunaway LSA

1938, duPont Manual of Louisville, Kentucky and New Britain of Connecticut played in an actual national championship game in Baton Rouge with the Louisiana Sports Association as the formal sponsor – and, by extension, the Sugar Bowl Committee, which held a series of sporting events leading up to the Sugar Bowl game itself. Manual won, 28–20.[2] The following year, on December 30, the game featured Pine Bluff, Arkansas, which defeated Baton Rouge High School by a score of 26–0.[2] This series of games proved difficult to organize, due to some states' prohibition of postseason play. Pine Bluff, for example, had to receive a special waiver from its state to participate in the game. In 1962, Florida state champion Miami Senior High beat Baltimore Polytechnic in the Orange Bowl and was recognized by Imperial Sports Syndicate of California as a national champion.

Is Elizabeth a private school? I know they made some noise back in those days.

Anyone remember when elmwood park didn't win a football game in like 4 years lol publics have no shot especially today

I remember awhile back running into a Garfield offensive line coach .... I casually asked (BC he had Garfield football on his T) if any of his player were getting any college looks... he said maybe their best player will go D3. Just one guy too! I kind of felt bad asking after his response.

Garfield is where wayne cherbet played from jets

And Luis Castillo a first round pick out of northwestern. He was part of the overhaul in the Eli manning/Philip rivers trade. As well as merriman and the kicker Nate kaeding I believe.

Yup. Chrebet is one of my all time favs. Also Luis Castillo (1st rounder) and Miles Austin. Dickie V also coached hoops there for brief stint I believe. Not bad for a tiny public.

Beat me to Castillo. Forgot miles Austin good one.
