Buford is a independent City system school meaning they operate on their own terms they don't have to follow the same rules for example as: Grayson,North Gwinnett or Norcross.... all 3 of those schools operate under the County system.... Buford being a City system makes their own rules and is an open enrollment HS. Meaning: 1. You don't have to live in Buford to attend but you must have reliable transportation as the Buford Buses will not give you a ride unless you are actually in Buford or a nearby community in the Buford school Zone. 2. You must maintain atleast a C average to attend under the Open enrollment rules. 3. You must report your current address if you do not reside in Buford and must keep it updated at the beginning of each semester I believe or if you move during the semester. These rules only apply if you're attending from outside the Buford Natural School zone. I do also believe they have a limit as well... Buford is a fast growing community and they're not gonna let someone from outside the district in if they don't have room for the children who actually live in Buford... Example scenario: Let's say @Columbiafan is living in Norcross and he has a son and his son doesn't want to go to Norcross or Meadowcreek HS (The schools that serve Norcross) but his son wants to go to Buford. Well his son can he just has to follow the 3 rules above. If Buford has no room for him then he must attend the schools that are in his community. Which would be Norcross or Meadowcreek... The largest private school in Georgia based on Enrollment is Blessed Trinity-5A The smallest is North Cobb Christian-1A If Buford got put in with the privates they'd be in 1A private where without a doubt any team not named Eagles Landing Christian Academy would be blown off the field by 2nd qtr... Even then ELCA would still get running clocked... Put em in 4A? Been there done that... then they got moved up to 5A.... then 6A... because the GHSA enacted the BS 3% and Open Enrollment rule... But let's not forget the schools who dodged the bullet that shouldn't have.... Cartersville should be 6A Richmond Hills keeps getting by with the Isolation Rule BS to avoid being slapped into Region 1-7A... Having Houston Northside WR Brunswick Lee County Valdosta Lowndes Camden Tift Colquitt County Richmond Hills All in 7A aint no way Region 1 can do that So RH will probably catch the "Isolation" train again... Brunswick probably will too... Houston and Northside WR are literally at the heart of the state of Georgia so no matter where they go its gonna be a haul...
