PS:

General Tells British Special Forces: Stop Rescuing People in Kabul

Tom Rogan Washington Examiner August 21, 2021

Marine Corps via AP)

I understand that the commanding general of the 82nd Airborne Division has told the commander of the British special forces at the Kabul airport to cease operations beyond the airport perimeter.

Maj. Gen. Christopher Donahue has told his British Army counterpart, a high-ranking field-grade officer of the British army's 22nd Special Air Service Regiment, that British operations were embarrassing the United States military in the absence of similar U.S. military operations. I understand that the British officer firmly rejected the request.

Yeah, the Brits and French were sending out their soldiers to rescue folks and get them to the airport.

You know, soldier shit.

Meanwhile, our more-worried-about-being-woke leadership kept our forces sitting on their hands.

Fucking disgraceful.

You just can't make this shit up.  It reads like something from The Onion or the Babylon Bee.

U.S. to help build border facilities on Tajik-Afghan border - embassy

The United States will help build new facilities for border guards in Tajikistan along the Central Asian country's frontier with Afghanistan and Uzbekistan to better respond to security threats, the U.S embassy in Dushanbe said on Wednesday.

The new facility, which will be built in Tajikistan's southwestern tip, will replace an outdated detachment and allow border guards to "deploy forces more quickly to border areas in response to threats," the embassy said.

Tajikistan, which has pledged to accept 100,000 Afghan refugees escaping the Taliban, hosts a Russian military base and is a member of a Moscow-led post-Soviet security bloc.

You mean Americans-born children of Afghans who returned there in the spring and summer and who didn't go to the airport for almost three weeks when everybody was leaving?

I guess we should stay indefinitely have done our duty and gotten the children out of Joey Applesauce's clusterfuck!

America's longest war is finally over and the Graveyard of Empires claims another victim.  20 years of blood and nothing to show for it except a modernized Taliban and ruination.  I wonder how many Americans still know the reason why the US invaded in the first place, or how long before this ugliness fades from their memory till the next newsflash stirs the emotions of people who otherwise don't care.
