Republicans and Democrats united!!

AP poll:  86% of country says on wrong track.  0ver 90% for the GOP and at 80% for Democrats.  69% of Democrats say economy is poor.  Question is - do Democrats crack 180 House seats after the election?  Would be their lowest amount in 100 years or more.  They need to keep losses at 42 or less.  Not a slam dunk for them at all.

Biden's polling has continued to decline.

The generic congressional polling is still in the Republicans favor.

Per Gallup polling last month, just 5% of Americans put abortion at the top of their list of important issues.

It's not even remotely close to the economy, inflation or immigration.

Democrats have won a lot of suburban seats by competitive margins the last couple of cycles.  If the GOP recaptures a number of those they could do extremely well.  Any Democrat in a red district this year is at risk, including some long-standing incumbents.  And the Democrats are clearing on defense with only a 4 vote margin.  No resources to go after Republicans in purplish districts.

On the surface it would seem so.  But, to many abortion unfortunately represents the most powerful of freedoms, the right to personal choice.  It’s a keystone issue.  The things going wrong now will all be represented as things the government has no control over.  But, take away that right to choice….   It may not go the way you think because you try to apply logic and reasoning.  The upcoming elections may be decided on emotion which is often more powerful.

Predictably, there have been large crowds and violence. In liberal strongholds and typically where the overturning of Roe will have zero effect on their access to abortion mills. So who cares?

So far, polling is not reflecting any material shift to the left.

Biden's last three polls in the RCP average (all taken after the Roe decision), show his disapprovals at -19%, -20% and -17%.

There are three generic congressional votes that are all post Roe decision. There is one that is +5 for the Republicans (actually gaining 1 point since the last poll). Two are positive for the Dems at +3 and +7 (both polls gaining a couple of points and being consistently favorable for Dems for ages). Several other polls that have most recently indicated Republican advantage are pending updates with post-Roe data.

enthusiasm to vote has shifted towards the democrats since the S.C. decision...the right opened up a can of worms with the gun rights and abortion rights issues...you'll see Don...🤡

Actually I think the Roe decision may also excite conservative Christian turnout.  I think many of those voters were beginning to doubt the ability of the political process to effect change after being promised for so long.  It will restore their confidence that their efforts can make a difference.

But the midterms look increasingly bright for the Dems now.
