Scorching times at both Relays.

110m hurdles Damion Thomas from FL takes the Texas Relays in 13.43 (met minimum standard to attempt to qualify for world champ).  LSU commit Caj.

Fast boys 100 at TX Relays... just off wind legal.  +2.1 m/s.  Winner sub 10.3,  Slowest sprinter was 10.60

Fast Relays too.

Desoto Girls set School and meet record in Prelims of 4x400. Check this out how they stacked up against the University teams in the Prelim's:

Desoto Girls ran a 3:40:73 which would have been 3rd among the University girls.

Colleges

4X400 RELAY Prelim's

1. Oklahoma 3:36:31

2. Georgia 3:40:44

3. UTSA 3:40:96

4. TCU  3:41:01

That's a US #1.  Desoto would probably place at a sec event.  Lol.

AHP ran a 40.17 4x100 to lower their national #1 (Florida Relays and state record).  Can't wait to see that clip and Schwartz anchor leg.

Wilson, Jones, Campbell and Schwartz.  2 DB's and 2 WR's.

That's fire. AHP damn sure upped the Bar.

Golf I think we should do a thread of FL Relays vs. Texas Relays and post the top 5 times in each event to make it easier to both States.   I am interested in Fl. especially after seeing your AHP post.  TexasBall is there in Austin today along with a few other Track friends of mine.

F Calabar. :)

I have said for many years if you put the top relay teams from Texas, Cali and Fl in those Penn Relays those Jamaican teams would catch hell Especially in the 4x400 and would push the AHP's Lancaster's, BTW's, and Desoto's to faster 4x100 times

Lots to talk about from Texas Relays.  So some incredible competition.

The Louisiana pole vaulter only JR HS competed with the college and basically pro elite and set World record going like 19' 5 or close to it.  Very impressive.

So much more to say. Driving so it will need to wait.

They need to get the Desoto, MNW, and STA girls on the same track for the 4x4.   MNW just did 3:39.95, STA  3:40.67.    Would be epic.   I wish they had better national meets.  It seems like the national meets are less competitive than the big state meets.

man that is big time...It doesn't happen very often that Texas school doesn't have the fastest time in the nation...This will be one of those years!

This is kid was very impressive...Had some size to go along with all that speed!

The kid from George Ranch who ran their final leg in the 4x200 was beast too.  One of the most impressive 4th leg 4x200 I have seen - I believe it was the same kid who beat TC in the 200 last year at the Great Southwest meet.

Penn Relays would be something if a few TX powers and AHP faced Calabar from Jamaica... nothing against the schools that compete in that event (especially when the Lyles brothers do among other talents) but Calabar and the other few Jamaican schools that compete deserve our best and what a race that would be.

Desoto is hard to figure out.  I just looked this up.

They have ran 19 different athletes in 100m this year.

They have ran 20 different athletes in the 200 this year

The best I could count - they have ran 9 different combinations in the 4x100 - The may improve their time in this event come district and regional meets - still they will not be the very best.  They are lacking that elite guys this year.

This week Desoto ran 3:13.60 -  They have season best 3:11 something in the 4x400

They didn't run their best kid Quivell Jordan who has season best 47.62 in the open 400 -  -  they ran their 2, 3, 4, 5 best 400 kids at the texas relays -  There is nearly 3 sec difference between the #1 kid and #5 kid

I have a strategy in mind to run my best two 400 guys first and third in the 4 x 400.  I would go with my second best 400 guy to start us off and my best guy going third to try and break everyone's will with a ginormous lead.

I have touted this same thing for years. I get sick of constantly watching them beatdown them East Coast kids like they are JV level.  Not saying the best of TX and FL would beat them but they damn sure will be in the photo at the finish line.  And in the 4x400 many years would beat the Jamaicans.  Who can say AHP, Waxahachie, Lancaster or Desoto along with a few other Fl Schools wouldn't hit a sub 40 against them?   They need to come too the Fl and Texas Relays.  At least that HS Lyles and his brother  ran on T.C. Williams were Elite and finished 3rd with a 40.56 against them. Which was their fastest time all year.  Sorta proving the point when AHP is low 40 right now.  You already have 3 Texas and 3 Fl schools with sub 41's.
