Texasball
Before we make anymore adjustments to the current national rankings - I wanted to honor Mr. Cajun and let him know that John Curtis is currently sitting in the #53 spot nationally with a time of 42.03 in the 4x100 Also one other LA school can be found at #73 - I figured pure capita that had to be pretty damn good! Texasball
I also wanted to mr. Cajun know that GW Carver from LA was at the TSR They finished #22 in the 4x200 In the 100m the best finish was #52 and the other was dead last (well he might have been the fastest kid in the meet. we will never know he was DQ on FS In the 300M-H - they had kid finish 20th damn in 400m kid from Carver finished 15 and kid from John Curtis finished 16 In the 4x400 Carver Finished #25 - I did notice they are the top ranked 4x400 team in LA and they are #158 nationally - Consider little ole class 3A Vernon is ranked 102 nationally in the 110m H - they had kid finish #17 impressive - John Curtis had kid finish 4th in the 200 and carver had kid that finished 68 4x100 Carver finished 24 out of 28 - The beat KIPP Sunnyside, YES Prep North Forest, Houston Westbury, and Klein Forest - forest must limped to the finish In Triple Jump they got #
Texasball
In the TSR 4x100 - they had couple JR teams run - Lamar Consolidated Jr High ran 46.25 - That is pretty good, but not crazy good. Can we agree on that? I have seen Lancaster Jr. run much faster just off the top of my head. Did you know out 701 teams listed on Dyestat from the state of California - that time would be 391 in the state It would be 34 in Alabama 58 in Louisiana 50 in Arkansas for just the few I checked. Texasball
4 x 400 Nationally Current Texas has 16 of the top 24 21 of the top 34 29 of the top 50 38 of the top 64 45 of the top 77 50 of the top 100 National Best Performances so far! Are you freaking kidding me. There has been 2655 schools from outside of Texas who Dyestat has recorded results from in this event.. To break it down the nation had 2655 schools to crack the top 100 and they did it 50 times Texas had 731 schools to crack the top 100 and they did it 50 times. That pretty damn good and I wonder what the per capita rate is using these numbers TX vs the Nation? This is not knock against the other great track states...I just simply want to make people aware of the depth that Texas produces.
Texasball
Breaking down the 100m Sprints - These are FAT timing - No wind figured Texas has had 111 athletes post times under 11 flat Texas has had 394 athletes post 11.30 or better 100m Texas has had 683 athletes post 11.50 or better 100m Texas has had 1098 athletes post 11.70 or better -------------------------------------------------------------------- Florida has had 92 athletes post times under 11 flat Florida has had 282 athletes post 11.30 or better Florida has had 512 athletes post 11.50 or better Florida has had 790 athletes post 11.70 or better ---------------------------------------------------------------- Texas has 4,635 athletes listed in 100m Florida has 3,239 athletes listed in 100m Georgia has 2,878 athletes listed in 100m ------------------------------------------------------------------- Georgia has 56 athletes post times under 11 flat Georgia has 196 athletes post times 11.30 or better Georgia has 376 athletes post times 11.50 or better Georgia has 631 athletes post times 11.70 or better I don't really care about the percentages - But if someone would like to do some calculations that is ok with me. It will be interesting to see what these numbers would like at the end of the year. Many 4A from Texas are not included because they have not went to meet with FAT timing - For many of them that will start at the district meet. These are the only 3 states worth looking at when it comes to pure depth. For example California has 8,429 athletes listed in this event and they only have 34 kids state wide who have ran under 11 flat 100m so far. golfaddict1
Leaders thru today posted... one look at the TCU relays 100 vs 200 times is all you need to see about no wind results... very fast 100's, not 1 sub 21 200 with a wind legal race. Let's enjoy the colder state rips coming up to challenge the leaderboard below... 1st day of spring. Let's get that wind down in TX too. Tyrese Cooper is currently 2nd in the 100 and 1st in the 200 and 400. The 200 might be untouchable already... the 400 imo already is. In the 200, if Schwartz can get a good jump on him, I think he is the only kid in Florida that could beat him head to head.

Texasball
I just looked up Sham Ehiemua from Fort Bend Marshall TX and he has not been running the last 3 or so weeks for them Keep in mind he beat T Cooper head to head last year in the 200 at the Great Southwest Meet. He busted out wind legal 20.56 with 0.3 wind. Not sure what is going on with him. Injury? or just training waiting for the bigger meets? He actually had faster wind legal time than T Cooper last year 20.56 vs 20.68 - Cooper did that with 0.8 wind and Ehiemua did it with 0.3 - Just saying

Texasball
Another kid from Texas that might pull off some big numbers by the end of the season is Champion Allison from George Ranch He ended up winning both the 100m an 200m at the New Balance Meet last year. He ran faster times during that meet than T Cooper but Cooper didn't run with the best that meet had to offer.
golfaddict1
Cooper turned 17 today... interesting. He's basically a year older than most sophs and has thru the summer to break more soph records. His 16 yrs old stats are of course stout, but I wonder if he'll turn pro before he turns 19 in March of his senior year. I would think he will. 18U records he has 2 full years left to attack. 200 record is 20.13 set by Bolt at 17 yrs old, 100 record is 10.13 and the 400 record is 45.14 Thru 16, 100: 10.36 200: 20.55 400: 45.23 Shamon Ehiemua dob is 9/30/98 btw. He also seems to be a year older than his class, but he won't turn 19 until after his sr hs summer season is over.

Texasball
Cooper is only Soph and he already turned 17? Please allow me to correct one thing - Shamon's age is normal and he is not year older than normal sr. like me he is one of the oldest in his class. the cutoff date is Sept 1st. If had been born 8/31/98 he would have been the youngest in his class and would have graduated last year. My Sr year I was actually 7 days older than him. He will turn 19 after the fall semester starts his freshman year in college. This is very normal I was born Sept and my wife was born in April of the following year and we both graduated in the same class. My son was born in July and he was one of the youngest in his class. However, he is a 17 year old Soph - Cooper will turn 18 during his Jr. year. Cooper will turn 19 during track season his sr year. ---Personally I don't like this and believe it to be fairly big advantage for him. look at like this he was old enough to start drivers ed in the 8th grade. normal students would not turn 18 until after their Sr. year started and they wouldn't turn 19 until at least the fall semester of their freshman year in college. Still he is extremely fast regardless.
