Does anyone here have experience with metal works? This board is a fairly diverse group of experience, talents, etc.

I want build a one-piece globe dumbbell that will have a 3" thick handle and weigh 600 pounds. It will be a test of grip and posterior chain strength.

I want it to look just like the Thomas Inch dumbbell

why not just grab a beer?

Why?  Tungsten is about 20 bucks a pound.  So your dumbbell would cost about 12 thousand bucks.

Try to invent an exercise machine instead and make some money.

With tungsten, the dumbbell could be smaller but much heavier.

And don't worry lol, I haven't given up on entrepreneurship .

I do want to build a lat pull-down machine (similar to what you see at any gym) except... with an 11 mm braided steel cable. And the machine be big enough to load up to 1000 pounds.

Good idea.  But one word of caution. If you do try to create a new machine, don't create one that only a handful of people will buy.  Invent something that the general public can use at gyms across the nation or can add to their home gym.  People are time conscious, maybe you can invent something that can give you a full weight and cardio workout in twenty minutes or less.

Anyways, good luck in your pursuit.

Oh. One more thing.

My brother used to be work out partners with Jaime Brenkus, the inventor of the 8 minute abs craze in the 1990s.  Jaime made a small fortune selling his workout videos.

You' re still young and can pull something like that off.  Maybe a new exercise craze, involving weights.

Yeah I was at the gym the other day and the last machine only went to 990. So pissed, I almost quit on the spot! 1000 pounder you might be onto something.

You might be the weirdest guy on this board, which is saying something.

And that's not an insult. It's the opposite.

With you, it's all about feet and dating ethnic girls and grip strength and applied mathematics and foreign languages. (By the way, I miss the the old pic, with the feet with the black toenail polish.)

You've got me reevaluating myself. I'm thinking that I might be a little too vanilla. I've gotta find something weird to get into.

I hate that too, because I want my lats to resemble the wings of a dragon in flight when I flex them.

But I just can't find the right machine to get the pumps I need to achieve my goals.

Getting a foot job from some oriental broad while she’s death “gripping” his sack is kinda what I envisioned. But that’s cool with me! I’m not here to judge.

LOL! Yeah, I quit my gym over the same issue! I was PISSED! I want to be the first man to do a 1000 pound lat pull-down, probably 2.5X heavier or more than the most that's been done.

I have always tried to be interesting, and I strongly believe in variety. I would say my biggest problem has been too much variety. Instead of putting 100% effort into two or three things (things most important to me), its more like 10% here, 5% there, etc.

With that, I haven't become "good" at anything. I always look to people like Eddie Van Halen, Robert Plant, Tom Brady, Brian Shaw, and others and see that they are extremely good at something. I want to do the same, but still be interesting. It's a balance I will have to work to achieve, and I need to slow down and regain focus.

And yes lol I very much appreciate attractive female feet. It can be a deal-breaker for me. I may just bring that avatar back sometime, although I wonder what the rest of the board thinks.

Damn Belly, I thought you were weird.

Just goes to show you what I know.

I know nothing.

I may be wrong, but don't think the board gives a shit what you use for a avatar.

But, an aside @ron169, has the most traumatizing avatar.

Don't know if you guys should be making fun of ChimpGrips quirks.

Just remember, he is in his early twenties and doesn't need to use Viagra to satisfy his lady.  Be she foreign, exotic, or imaginary.

Who's making fun?

And even now, Smelly doesn't need any help satisfying the imaginary ladies.
