Robert E Lee beat Raines the first week of the season and then got killed out of the playoffs. This will be the only time you ever hear of this because Lee is an in state team. Two missed fg's of short distances, with one being off an int deep in Raines territory in the 3rd. That was Raines one turnover. Cocoa fumbled in the first, with Raines likely not having a FG kicker with a strong leg and were stopped on downs. The fumble at Raines 34 down 7-0 definitely hurt. Raines marched down the field on a 10 play drive and had a nice 14-0 lead. They wouldn't score until 4:04 left in the game on a short pass route that turned into a 66 yard catch and nice run to avoid defenders. That was right after Cocoa finally converted on a FG to reduce their deficit to one point. The pick 6 on the next drive down 21-13, ouch. That was it. Gibbons looking for state title #1. Their HC played in Gibbons only state final game prior in 1990. North Marion is also looking for state title #1.
