Syracuse more of a test than TAMU? Yeah, no.

If thats the case Clemson will roll everyone. Clemson lost that entire defensive line. No more gettin tons of pressure with a 4 man front... Itll impact their entire D. They wont be as good this year but still way better than everyone on their schedule... Except TAMU, IMO atleast.

I dont even understand how Clemson is as good as they are. Other than the fact theyve had some great QBs.... And one thing they have over other top teams is staff continuity. They kept pretty much their entire staff intact again. Georgia, Ohio St., Alabama all changed both OC & DC this year.

Joel "Dabo" Ostarine feeding his players HGH & steroids probably helps too.

2014: 16th

2015: 9th

2016: 11th

2017: 16th

2018: 7th

2019: 10th

2020: currently 1st...

In the 6 recruiting classes prior to 2020 (who are still seniors in HS), Clemsons never finished higher than 7th, and was 10th or worse 4 of those 6 years...  I wouldnt call that "very well". Its good, but not great.

Their 2020 class is shaping up to be elite though, especially on defense. You cant really say its no exception because none of their other classes were even close to #1.

Georgia in the same timeframe...

2014: 8th

2015: 6th

2016: 6th (Kirbys 1st class)

2017: 3rd

2018: 1st

2019: 2nd

2020: currently 5th (Georgia will finish top 2 or 3 though)

Where as Clemson never finished better than 7th from 2014-2019, Georgia never finished worse than 8th. Unfornately Georgia hasnt gotten a shot at Clemson since 2014... When Todd Gurley, Nick Chubb, & Sony Michel ran wild on them & Georgia crushed them 45-21.

Todd Gurley - 15 att., 198 yards, 3 TDs

Nick Chubb - 4 att., 70 yards, 1 TD

Sony Michel - 6 att., 33 yards

Combined - 25 att., 301 yards (12+ ypc), 4 TDs

Clemson has been putting really productive receivers in the league.  Georgia has been putting productive running backs in the league.  Most of the top programs are doing a great job at getting the players they want and need for their programs.

If' I'm a receiver coming out now, I am taking a very hard look at Clemson first.  If I'm a running back,  Georgia is going to get a hard look.

Interesting article.    An argument can be made that recruiting rankings can be flawed and that certain school offers have a positive affect on a players ranking.     Also maybe certain schools evaluate players better.

Maryland 63... Syracuse 20... might tell us a little something!!!

TL has a bevy of wide receivers to toy with... great offensive line to give him time.

If their re-tooled D can catch up by mid year... they will not lose. Best chance for a loss was today which would have been more possible if the Aggies had a respectable QB, which IMO, they don't.

Maryland took some of that shine off the Clemson-'Cuse game with today's shellacking.

Syracuse will come out fired up at home but Clemson wins.  Hell,  even College Gameday changed course at the last second and decided to go to Iowa instead of the Carrier dome next weekend.

Syracuse will give Clemson a much better game.  Syracuse looking ahead to the Clemson game. Tough spot for them

They just got flat out embarrassed by Maryland, no excuse for that. Bad loss. That said, they will definitely be much more focused for Clemson at home and should be competitive in a losing effort.
