Stop the madness Rutgers......

The difference is, Blackshear benched himself. It came out just before kickoff that the junior running back decided he’d rather redshirt than take more beatings this fall —following the lead of starting quarterback Art Sitkowski, who pulled the plug on the 2019 season earlier this week

Let’s try to stand in the shoes of all stakeholders here.

Put yourselves in Sitkowsi’s shoes. He had become a human pinata, pounded behind a porous offensive line. Have you seen some of the whacks he took this fall? Then his head coach and his offensive coordinator got ousted. The program is in chaos, getting stampeded weekly, the butt of jokes and memes. Should he put his health on the line for that, especially in an era when college stars are skipping bowl games — bowl games! — for fear of injury?

This is starting to sound like the players know they have zero chance under Nunzio and would rather wait till their new coach comes on next year.

one has nothing to do with the other. both kids most likely want a fresh start somewhere else and want to save a year of eligibility.

did king think he had zero chance under holgorsen?

That is next years coach.

No way their firing Nunzio until he gets One chance to see what he got when it comes to recruiting, that’s the whole reason I think that’s the reason he’s head coach, because he’s got an idea nationally and in his own state on what High schools got the best players, CHRIS ash thought the best players in the world are from South Jersey

He’s in a no-win situation. How’s he gonna successfully recruit and secure top ballers if he’s not winning games? Vicious cycle.

Reminder, PSU beat the Terps 59-0. That’s how far behind RU is.

Sell Starting positions, tell all these 3-4 star recruits you can either go to Georgia or Texas and ride the bench for 2-3 years or you can get time at Rutgers as a freshman in the Big ten league

He's not doing any recruiting.

He's got the job for 53 more days. Those days will be spent trying to extinguish the dumpster fire that is Rutgers football.

It would be a complete waste of time for him to recruit for a single second.

It's time to stop the madness..

Rutgers currently has the #89 rated recruiting class which ranks last in the Big 10.....you can't do much with that especially in a Power 5 league....people are seriously going to start getting hurt. No depth whatsover.

10 total commits.

2019 Rutgers ranked last in the Big 10 as well.

Perspective: Tulane currently has the #47 ranked class and is ranked #1 in the AAC.

23 commits

Schiano was only successful because RU was in the very average Big East conference. This is a much tougher job now.

This isn't true at all.... Louisville was legit w brohm at qb, wvu w rich rod had pat white and steve slayton, USF was really good under leavett….. dantonio was at cincy.

The conference was very good.... . The big east prob had 3 of the top 12 teams in the country in 06.

There is no way on earth a team as bad as rutgers would hire a former hsfb coach with 1 year of being an asst to the asst position coaching experience.  They need to hit a homerun with this hire or they may as well drop foosball.

Of those 10 commits only 2 are ranked in the top 1000.  1 is like 895 and the other around 980.  Not looking to bright for next years.  No need to wear shades.

He's going to have to be smart and seek out players that are potentially underrated and not getting all the looks of the big schools. There are many of those all over the country.

Imo these guys get too caught up in flirting with and recruiting kids they'll never get and miss the solid talent that's right under everyone's nose.

Not as threatening as competing with OSU, UM, PSU, MSU, Wisco, Iowa, etc. year in and year out.

First off...Wisconsin and Iowa are in the Western Division.  They won't play them every year.

Anyways at that time (Key words...At that time) Louisville and West Virginia were just as good.

But it's not the same as recruiting vs OSU, UM, MSU, PSU, Wisco, NW, etc.... much tougher competing for ballers in the B10.

Only rutgers isn't recruiting vs those schools.

rutgers is recruiting vs Temple and those type schools mainly in the East.

Even Temple (AAC) is kicking rutgers ass in recruiting this year. Temple has 7 recruits from nj. Go figure....

Stop the madness and silly dreams of rutgers ever competing in Big 10 football.

Rutgers needs to leave the B10 and get w/ Temple, Pitt, Syracuse, Grayson, Boston College, West Virginia, Buffalo, Virginia, Ga Tech, Kentucky, and Memphis to form a different type of ACC.

Hate seeing any school like that getting thumped every week.  Rutgers could be competitive in a smaller league for sure but this bullshit is just demoralizing and a waste of time and health.
