But anyone who sees what their doing its very obvious. The Democrats want America on their dime so they can tell u what to do and how to do it. Once they get their hands on every aspect of your life your done. They have already got their hands in education and healthcare.

Jefferson argued that public education was essential for the success of our democracy. That's part of the reason why he founded the University of Virginia.

I agree. But I can’t help but question if today’s social institution of education is what Jefferson envisioned when he founded UVA. And...has the educational system been “hijacked” to the point that kids (and going on generations now) don’t really think education is ”essential to the success...”? The current system is broken and bankrupt in my opinion. The districts that are “successful” are teaching about global warming, sustainability, and socialism while letting kids crate their own degrees...that...shock...they can’t use....rather than traditional curriculums like mathematics and sciences etc. is this purposeful? I don’t know. That said, educating our society is imperative to continued success...like Jefferson said.

Today's public education is a failure

I was with you up until u said u dong blame the government or politicans and seem to put all the blame on the individual person. Now yes some people have their own issues cant deny that but let's look at the government side of thing

High taxes and that's common for all blue states

Illegal immigrants getting better treatment than citizens

Democrats who say they are fighting income inequality while california has the highest income inequality in the country

The democrats answer to everything is just keep taxing. It doesnt work. It sure doesnt want to make the businesses stay if they have to pay high taxes which affects their bottom line

5 dollar a gallon gas is absurd

But anyone who sees what their doing its very obvious. The Democrats want America on their dime so they can tell u what to do and how to do it. Once they get their hands on every aspect of your life your done. They have already got their hands in education and healthcare.

There is absolutely nothing that the democrats think or do that is good

But I'll say this as well I completely disagree with trump legislation when it comes to the smoking age of 21

Regardless of what the govt does or who they give out freebies too, if you are able bodied, you can find a job and work and not be homeless in California. There are plenty of  jobs available. Now, you may live in a shithole motel, studio or bad area, may not have the newest iPhone, but can still survive. Majority of People are homeless because they’re lazy, on drugs or mental disorder.

I agree with you on able bodied people working but if your going to work to be poor than you might as well take the government subsidies and have them pay for everything. And that's the way the blue states work. They want to run your lives and they are successfully doing it on a daily basis

The problem is you work low paying jobs to help build your resume, then move up the ladder over time like most Americans do. Minimum wage jobs aren’t for raising a family on or shouldn’t be. They should be used by kids for side money or help pay college or maybe of retired folks to keep busy. These people want to start off making 6 figures instead of earning a nice paying wage. California taxes are ridiculous but can be managed. If that was the true issue for homelessness , people can move to other states and work for fewer taxes, like many are doing now.

They are moving out of NY CA etc. I posted an article that shows that from the LA Times. People esp people my age do not want to be in the blue states. There is nothing there for them. You couldnt go to college on minimum wage jobs. Not even community college and that's a fact. The future of america is in all the red states.

I know people are moving out, I have lot of very successful friends that recently moved to Idaho, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina. Taking their retirement money out of California. You can go to college on minimum wage jobs, lol millions of kids are doing it... Lot live at home and get help via family or scholarships but they do it. My son is going to a jc, daughter just got accepted to Stan St and they both work. We will help them when needed and they live at home still. It can be done without help but not easy.

I was working a minimum wage job and went back to school for an add on to my bachelors degree. The bill went directly on my credit cards. I couldn't pay off the bill in cash working minimum wage. Each class was around 800 a class if I remember correctly and I live at home. Boise idaho is the fastest growing city in america right now.

I think that public schools have a lot of problems, but their being public isn't one of them.

Agreed. We actually still have MANY fantastic public school systems here in CA...as I'm certain you are aware. The east bay in Nor Cal is filled will some of the best district's in the nation. CA was once the undisputed benchmark for education pre-mid 90s (I think we're 49th now). Heck, Monte Vista and San Ramon Valley, today, are just as highly rated as DLS...and they're public! So we know that it can be done public. So to your point, we must HONESTLY identify the issues and address them accordingly to get max benefit to all students. There would have to be concessions on a lot of fronts in my opinion. Merry Christmas, BB.
