The per capita should actually be the average amount of boys playing football from each state.  Texas and California have over 1200 high school football teams.

A tiny state like Florida only have about 550. So if rosters averaged 50 players and TX and Cali have over 700 more teams playing, they have 35,000 more kids on any given year playing with the same chance to make college and the pros.

Props to tiny no name Florida to top the list when most everyone here just hangs out at Disney or the beach eating oranges and getting sunburned.

NOLA was tied for 4th last year, but lost 2 and represent with 12 this year.

Dallas never makes the city list which is really odd.

Is what it is.

Thx.  That's the detailed list format we are used to seeing annually.

Well 90% of the players in Texas come from UIL programs roughly 90% of them played 6A or 5A schools.  That’s roughly 500 schools

Texas has well over 200 6 man teams that are counted in the numbers. Public and private.

Fact is Texas is trending up with these numbers.

Per capita is interesting and nice to look at.  It leads people to believe if they had more population they would have more players.  Maybe maybe not see New York look at what’s happening in California— it’s about demographics

In the Dallas area it’s all about the burbs except for like 2 or 3 high schools.
