We have teams that struggle to get the ball across half-court against a press...much less have difficulty scoring points.

No play-clock actually gives the "less athletic" teams a chance to compete by forcing fewer possessions.

I'm not fond of it as I have seen teams attempt to run the clock down an entire quarter by playing 4-corners only to make a mistake and turn it over.

But eh...I understand the reasoning.

We had a 6-4 game in Alabama this year in 6A.

We need a shot clock. Only lazy coaches are against the shot clock.  In Alabama of the 14 state boys and girls champions  12 of the 14 winners ran uptempo fast break offenses.   A couple of years the 1A girls winner only graduates 18-22 kids a year still ran fast break dribble drive and did not have a player over 5' 10".

Yeah but ya gotta have talent to play uptempo.  Not all schools have it.

That doesn't include teams that play Zones.

For some reason that nobody understands Hoover might have the worst baseball team in school history. We have many kids going to the next level but are off to a terrible start. Maybe we can win enough area games to back door into the playoffs.

Sounds like the operative word in your statement is the answer. They just aren't playing as a TEAM. Im guessing they play a lot of travel ball and are spoiled by their parents. That leads to a team full of kids who believe that they are above teamwork and listening to coaches.
