westbankeagle
I don't know exactly but I think the school population of students 9-12 plus all eligible varsity 7th and 8th graders are counted and its roughly: C- 80 and Below B/1A- 80-200 2A- 200-400 3A- 400-650 4A- 650-1050 5A- 1050 and above I'm probably off a couple dozen on a couple. westbankeagle
A female pole vaulter in 2A just won PV, 100 and 200 and it actually wasn't that slow on the sprints. 12.2 and 25.0 I think. Her sister is trying to be an Olympic pole vaulter. Had a kid in Jav over 200. My boy at the meet said sounds like team LA might be looking good for GSW. DevilDog
Texas Track and Field Championships begin today in Austin. Some kids to look out for. BOYS Branson Bragg, Crandall: He is a four-star recruit as a center in football. In track, he ranks No. 1 in the state in the discus with a throw of 190-4. That is more than four feet farther than the second-best mark in the state. Lakyron Mays, Carter: The Oklahoma State signee won regionals in the 400 with a time of 46.69, which ranks No. 9 in the nation and was almost a second faster than any other state qualifier in 4A. He is part of Carter's 4x100 relay that has the top qualifying time (41.39) in 4A for state. Jais Smith, Mansfield Legacy: The Houston signee is tied for No. 2 in the nation in the 100 with a time of 10.23. He placed fifth at state in 5A last year, running 10.58. He will be busy at state, also running on Legacy's 4x200 and 4x100 relays that rank No. 2 and No. 16 in the nation, respectively. Robert Teer, Arlington Seguin: The Texas Tech signee ranks No. 1 in the nation in the 110 hurdles with a time of 13.58. He will be pushed in the 5A race at state by Fort Bend Marshall's Dominick Houston-Shepard, who ranks No. 10 nationally at 13.86. The 5A state-meet record is 13.40 by Beaumont Ozen's Tony Brown in 2013.

What a shame. I hate to hear things like this. But these incidences happen with intact families. So much Talent. My niece here in TX 6 yrs ago was top 15 in State in the 100m and ranked 87th National as a Soph led here 4X100 to State with 3 other Freshman. Intact family I invested in her no junk food, parachutes and her mom called me and said she had quit school and left home. I was devastated she should be at a DI School right now ran a 12.1 as a Soph. She didn't get into any trouble or pregnancy but quit. Now her Mother and Father were divorced but had a step dad who was good to go. Used that as an excuse. I'm still pissed and haven't spoken to her since then. Kids. She was the 4th member of my Family to run at State her Grandfather was the 2A 100m champ in the old PVIL where Blacks ran before integration in 1964. No current track kids in the Family. We have 2 State champs and 2 others that ran (100m, 400m) SC and 4X400 and a 5th in 200 and 8th in 4x400. Track is in my blood. I hope this kid gets his Stuff together he could have been paid. TexasBall and I was speaking the Other day and he felt no one would get AH. I think 5A had the horses to do it and just missed. But 6A have about 3 legit threats as well. I agree that 5A 4X100 was smoking. Anytime PAM is 5th you know you are moving.
