Desoto relay rankings nationally so far

4 x 100  - 3

4 x 200 - 2

4 x 400 - 1

Not bad - DD and I are convinced they have couple kids - big time FB recruits that ran last year that haven't been running in these meets so far and are still on campus.  I look for these guys to start running soon.

In the 400 M  - Texas Southern vs Bob Hayes meet

I would give the edge to Texas -  Even though the best runner is T Cooper Florida - He just coasted in the prelims with 48.01 lol

In the prelims All 8 of the Texas runners ran in the 48 sec range  48.18 to 48.93  - Also 13 athletes ran under 50 flat

Florid had 3 kids run in the 48 range - 1 kid in the 49's and 4 kids ran in the 50 sec range in the top 8

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

300 M H - I give the advantage to Florida Top 8

It close at the top - 37.55 vs 37.56   Florida showed very solid depth in this meet vs the Texas Southern meet - Florida had 12 athletes run under 40 flat in this event !

4 x100 Girls comparison Texas Southern Meet vs Bob Hayes meet -  These are good meets to compare

Advantage goes to Texas these are prelim # for both meets

Only 2 of the top 8 at the Bob Hayes would have qualified for the final at TSR -  the best time in Florida was 47.27 that would have been 5th and #2 at bob hayes would have Qualified at #7

The #1 time in Texas was 46.09  the #8 times was 47.91  - Texas had 15 teams run under 49 Flat

The #1 time in Florida was 47.27 and the #8 time was 49.11

#27 in Florida ran 55.75  # 35 in Texas ran 52.92

100 m final for both the TSR and Bob Hayes meets

I believe on the same track this would have been very close

Florida kids ran with +1.3 wind and Texas kids ran with + 3.6

Texas                             Florida

10.43                             10.61

10.50                             10.71

10.58                              10.71

10.68                              10.72

10.69                             10.75

10.69                            10.80

10.76                             10.81

10.82                              10.91

This would be very close race with all these athletes

3- 41.63

4- 42.17

5-42.24

6-42.89

7-42.99

I was expecting little better results from the Texas teams -  This event is still Texas advantage across the board

TSR top 8 in the 4 x 100 the bob hayes top 8 is listed above

The winner was Port Arthur Memorial with 41.07

2 -41.32

110m H - finals for these meets advantage goes to Florida

Texas ran with +3.5 wind Florida ran with +2.4

The winning time in Texas was 13.67 and the winning time in Florida was 13.94 - This would have been good race for #1 on the same track

After that Florida had slightly better times running with less wind as mentioned above

Boys Shot Put comparison -  Big Advantage for Texas

Hard for me to understand why Florida doesn't produce better shot putters - I would have won this bob Hayes meet by Jr. and SR -and would have easily placed by soph year

Top throw at TSR was 62'-01.75  The top throw at BH was 50'2"

Texas had two kids throw in the 60's

4th place at TSR would have won Bob Hayes

over the 29th best thrower at TSR would have finished 8th at the bob hayes

Long Jump comparison - Advantage TSR over Bob Hayes

Texas had wind figured - Bob Hayes did not have wind reading in this event

The top jump in florida would have been 4th place

The winning jump in Texas was 23'11.75"  The winning jump in Florida was 22'10"

Texas had a couple good wind legal jumps  3rd place jumped 23'03" with 1.8 wind

only the best jump at Bob Hayes would have place at TSR - the other top 7 would not have made the top 8

Tyrese Cooper's 46.16 was a meet record and his 20.55 was a meet and soph national record.  20.55 was also a PB.

The girls ripped some nice 100 and 200 times.  The senior from Southridge,  Symone Mason ran a 23 flat in the 200 and 11.24 in the 100.

TSR girls - ran 11.48 100m best today - it was also wind legal - she is Jr. from Dallas Carter

in the girls 4x400 if you take the top 16 from both meets this is what it would look like  - Keep in mind Texas has little bit of advantage because 16 teams ran in the final only 8 for florida

Florida would have finished  1, 3, 6, 11, 12, 15, 16  ( 7 total teams)

Texas would have finished    2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14 (9 total teams)

it have been pretty cool had the desoto, Mckinney North, Duncanville ran in this race they have 3rd, 4th, 5th fastest times in the nation.

Miami Southridge came into this race with the best time nationally - they might not be running the same girls or had some other issues because they are way off their pace.

In the boys 4x400 if you take the top 16 teams from both meets this is what it would look like - Again Texas ran 16 teams in the final

Texas would have finished  1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 10, (11-12), 13, 14, 15, 16  - (11-12 = tied with another florida team)  11 total teams

Florida would have finished  3, 7, 8, 9, (11-12) = same as above team from florida and team from tx both ran 3:19.42 at #11 = 5 total teams

Can anyone tell that I a am bored...Wife is sick and the kids are not home.

Florida showed to have little more speed in the 200m dash in these meets- mainly at the top

Jesus - TSR - had 18 heats in the 200 and they didn't run any finals for this race.

Bob Hayes had 77 athletes listed in this event and 57 of them ran under 24 flat

TSR had 101 kids entered 72 of them ran under 24 flat.

Some stats from the 100m dash

TX had 92 kids run -  19 ran under 11 flat and 84 ran under 12 flat

FL had 70 kids run - 6 ran under 11 flat and 57 ran under 12 flat

at the end of  the day HS kids that can run 100m under 12 - make for some pretty good HS football players - Key word is High school players!!!

I will say it again and I will keep on preaching - This is why these two states rock ass in HS football - doesn't mean the best team will always come from here.  Quality football in each state is not measured by having just couple of good loaded teams - It's measured by the depth of quality football.

Based on the information I have - It's clean sweep for Texas and Florida top 10 nationally 4x400

1. Desoto TX                            3:11.53

2. Manvel TX                            3:11.98

3. MNW FL                               3:12.12

4. Lancaster TX                        3:13.83

5. Hallandale FL                       3:15.52

6. Conroe Oak Ridge TX          3:16.44

7. Lincoln FL                            3:16.63

8. Dillard FL                             3:16.66

9. Port Arthur Memorial TX      3:17.09

Again - This is why the two states have the best HS Football with the most quality depth

200m at the Bob Hayes meet - Very impressive final for national rankings

The finals produce these national rankings in wind legal conditions

1, 6, 10, 11, 16, 23

The TSR produced  4, 14, 26

Everything I am doing is based on Current rankings on dyestat then making adjustments for only the Bob Hayes and Texas Southern meets - so maybe some athletes in other parts of the country topped all this.

Florida alone has 12 kids ranked in the top 20 in this event nationally - This is only wind legal rankings - very impressive
