Up here in NY we are only in the sectionals of playoff basketball and we had some snow last night....you guys already playing baseball.  That is crazy.

Baseball started in FL for regular season this week and softball started a week ago

But we are deep in regional playoffs for boy's basketball and in final 4 for girls basketball

I haven’t posted any Tyrese Cooper or other track times yet out of respect.  :)

STA girls have a good squad this year and are playing in their class final 4 (venue in Lakeland).

Just remembered Parkview beat STA last year in baseball 5-0 (5 unearned runs in 5th inning ouch... excuse thread I know lol).

How the boys basketball at STA doing?

I remember them being ranked in South Florida earlier in year but I lost track of them afterwards

I did see STA started top 10 in their softball class and probably one of top teams in baseball class

Boys basketball at STA not good and historically not very good.  Their longtime HC just retired.

Broward county has several talented basketball programs

What has stopped STA from having success like in most the other sports when there is the talent down there to have success

If I'm correct STA actually has a game against both Blessed Trinity and Parkview soon... In Baseball.

I don't follow their basketball team or any squad in the area, so would defer that question to Los (if he was here) or some basketball followers in the area more.    From a recruiting standpoint, I don't see too many kids signing D1.   Nik Bonitto had some D1 basketball offers as I recall.  Steven Haney in recent years attended Loyola Marymount.    In looking at NSD, looks like this senior class had two signees,  One for Nova Southeastern Univ. and one for Flagler College.

They played last year as well as Marist (beat BT and Marist, lost to Parkview).

This year STA visits:

I wouldn't rely on Los info because I prefer getting Intel from people seeing it first hand unless I have no better options

Those 2 colleges are decent D2 programs that are both in same conference and I believe have a lot of FL ties

Doesn't U school and Dillard both have powerhouse basketball programs in Broward county though?

I wonder if they're gonna be the Mater Dei baseball of this year. MD had all sorts of hype on a good team with college recruits and finished last in league play after having a terrible non-league.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Last years MD team had a ton of individual talent, but they were not a very good team at all.
