BobbySanchez
Does anybody remember back in the day in Florida St.Thomas Aquinas would have these wars with Lakeland and Manatee? Both Lakeland and Manatee are long gone now. STA now blows up and smacks a running clock on any Florida team that gets in their way. I am calling it, but I think in a few years SJB will be to California as STA is to Florida. Mater Dei's HC Bruce Rollinson is pushing his 80's, JT Daniels has two more seasons but what's after that for Mater Dei, the only team in California who can stand toe to toe with SJB? Corona Centennial? Maybe, but can they keep up the transfer game? The Trinity League has given up and would take these beatings, awaiting their turn to get demoted to D-2, a championship is a championship. Ararar
After Rollie retires at MD it is thought that Logan will want to take over.Great for MD if that happens not so great for Centennial

Since the 2010 undefeated STA squad, STA has gone undefeated in Fl....ONCE (2014). Just saying.
954gator
The Fl classes just suck. 7A powers have been down. (Manatee,Lakeland, Plant, Dwyer etc). Even still, they are not as weak as people generally think, but yes STA is always loaded. SJB already seems a lot like STA IMO.

At least they play. A lot of the best Fl teams don't unfortunately.

They would be a respectable game against anyone. SJB and MD are just two super-teams both ranked inside the Top 5. Serra and St.Joseph Regional from NJ played a 17-7 game which SJR did dominate throughly but still, 17-7. Santa Margarita dominated Serra throughout the game and won 27-14. Keep that in perspective.
954gator
Shoot AHP is like 10 min at most from STA so there are still very talented teams close by, it's just they're in different classes.
old_e
If MD fixed their pass protection, then their game with SJB is a toss up.
BobbySanchez
*Which Santa Margarita lost 62-14 to Mater Dei and 55-14 to SJB.

Very similar IMO. Only thing that bothers people is that teams like Lakeland are ranked like 500 nationally and te bottom of the barrel Trinity league teams are ranked much higher. This is where the Cpreps arguments start lol.

954gator
Lakeland never lost OOS. BEAT DLS, StX, PCC etc.

If SJB and MD both beat their OOS games and meet each other undefeated (which, if you think about is not entirely outside the realm of possibility) we're ALL gonna be in for a treat. Think we'll be in for a treat either way. Even if those teams were to lose, they're still elite teams.

These things are cynical. Remember way back when Harry Welch was at Santa Margarita and they were nationally relevant? Servite, LBP a few years ago? OLU mid 00's was relevant for a brief period. Negro has tapped into the talent, something Kiki never was fully able to do. Hell St. Bonnies with Therion was a good squad and now?

Difference between Negro's Bosco and Kiki's Bosco is the lineman they get. Kiki didn't have lineman, only athletes.
