This thing could possibly take off this time and expand with the right management, and promotion.......lots of good players around. Might be fun!

Fox Sports

The USFL's 20 national over-the-air broadcast windows will exceed the number for any regularly scheduled sport in the first half of 2022, according to the league. The newly constituted USFL is controlled by Fox Sports and not affiliated with the original organization, which had a short but tumultuous run in the 1980s.

From the article. The Transfer Portal could be an USFL tool.

"In a break from traditional football thinking, the USFL will allow any player to be eligible if they’ve graduated from high school in 2020 or earlier.  In theory, a player can opt out of college after two years and join the league.  This caveat is something to keep an eye on especially in the age of the NCAA transfer portal."

I wonder how long before they decide to allow kids straight out of high school?

They aren't requiring a college degree already, so, it isn't a stretch to think some kids that maybe won't get NIL deals in college just bypass it altogether. Seems like the next step anyway.

The USFL is a new professional football league, and it is not associated or affiliated with the USFL of the 1980s or its owners.

What's that got to do with anything I said?

There has been the XFL (2001), UFL (2009-12), AAF (2019), New XFL (2020), and now the two-cent USFL (2022).

Oh, and then there's the New New XFL next Spring (2023).

They all come, they all go. and then a new spring league starts up to supposedly learn the lessons of the other failures.

Spoiler: they never do.
