WR ELIJHAH BADGER

  Elijhah Badger

WR Elijhah Badger, Folsom (Calif.) -- Badger was overshadowed by the top offensive prospect in Northern California last year, receiver Joe Ngata, who signed with Clemson, but Badger was right on Ngata's heels for production at the receiver position, with 55 catches for 1,113 yards and 20 touchdowns for the Bulldogs en route to a state title. Even though there is a new head coach at Folsom, dont expect Badger's numbers to dip, he should see them shoot up as their top receiver returning. Recruiting wise, Oregon, Michigan, Nebraska, USC and Wisconsin are some of the schools sticking out among his nearly 20 offers.

SLIDE 2 of 11

QB JAY BUTTERFIELD

  Jay Butterfield

QB Jay Butterfield, Brentwood (Calif.) Liberty -- Butterfield had a dream junior season, leading Liberty to the CIF State 1-A title with a memorable second half rally. Butterfield, the son of former Stanford and NFL quarterback Mark Butterfield, threw for 3,294 yards and 43 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. Cal, Arizona State, Michigan, Oregon and Tennessee are some of the schools that have offered Butterfield and he's the top quarterback prospect in Northern California and should attract plenty of schools this spring to watch him throw.

SLIDE 3 of 11

DE XAVIER CARLTON

  Xavier Carlton

DE Xavier Carlton, Modesto (Calif.) Christian -- The four-star pass rusher from Modesto has over 20 offers, including 11 of the 12 Pac-12 schools (only Washington hasn't offered) and national offers from schools like Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Texas. Carlton's father played for Utah and the Utes are definitely in the mix for him.

SLIDE 4 of 11

DE DESHAWN LYNCH

  DeShawn Lynch

DE DeShawn Lynch, Folsom (Calif.) -- A basketball player who former Folsom head coach Kris Richardson convinced to come out for football has turned in to one of the most intriguing defenders in Northern California. Lynch is physical and explosive off the edge and oozes with upside as he continues to learn the game. He has offers from Power 5 programs like Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State and Tennessee and as people swing through Folsom to look at the offensive weapons, should be wowed when they see Lynch.

WR JALEN MCMILLAN

  Jalen McMillan

WR Jalen McMillan, Fresno (Calif.) San Joaquin Memorial -- McMillan had a monster junior season for the Panthers and is in the conversation as the top receiver in the West, and among the tops in the country. He ran a 4.52 as a sophomore at The Opening Bay Area last year, while in the middle of baseball season, and put up 73 receptions for 1,401 yards and 19 touchdowns (and added a rushing touchdown, a punt return for a touchdown and a kick return for a score). McMillan has offers from all over the country and said Washington, Notre Dame, LSU, Alabama, Oregon, Arizona, Florida, UCLA, USC and Oklahoma are among the schools standing out to him.

SLIDE 6 of 11

RB KENDALL MILTON

  Kendall Milton

RB Kendall Milton, Clovis (Calif.) Buchanan -- Milton may end up the heaviest recruited player to come from the Vally, even more than Caleb Kelly a few years back. The five-star is the top back in California and the No. 2 back in the country, and a top 10 player nationally. With over 40 offers that span the country, Milton will take his time and take official visits to five schools before he makes a decision.

SLIDE 7 of 11

ATH DANIYEL NGATA

  Daniyel Ngata

ATH Daniyel Ngata, Folsom (Calif.) -- The youngest Ngata brother that starred at Folsom, his former head coach said he would end up the best of all of them- high praise with Joe (Clemson) and Ariel (Washington), both being All-Americans. But Daniyel is built differently than his two older brothers, he's lightning in a bottle and as dynamic a playmaker as there is in the region. As a junior, he ran for 874 yards and 10 touchdowns, caught 36 passes for 666 yards and 10 touchdowns and returned two kicks for touchdowns. Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee and Washington are among some of the offers that are most significant to him.

DT TOBIN PHILLIPS

  Tobin Phillips

DT Tobin Phillips, Fresno (Calif.) San Joaquin Memorial -- After having to sit out the first half of the season because he transferred in, Phillips put together a big second half of the season for the Panthers, with 70 tackles in just 10 games plus eight sacks and seven tackles for loss. Stanford, UCLA and Cal are among his three most recent offers, and the Bruins and the Cardinal have been the two offers he coveted most, with his sister at UCLA playing water polo and Stanford the childhood favorite. With a full season this fall, Phillips should put up even bigger numbers.

SLIDE 9 of 11

DT JAMAR SEKONA

  Jamar Sekona

DT Jamar Sekona, Kentfield (Calif.) Marin Catholic -- His school has produced an NFL Super Bowl quarterback and No. 1 overall draft pick, but Sekona could be one of the best his school has produced, and certainly on the defensive side of the ball. Offers that have been the most significant to him are from Cal, Oregon, UCLA and USC and as people make their way to the Bay this spring, that offer list should grow even more.

SLIDE 10 of 11

TE/OLB BEN YUROSEK

  Ben Yurosek

TE/OLB Ben Yurosek, Bakersfield (Calif.) Christian -- A two-sport standout (Yurosek is also a star on the basketball court), he's one of the top two-way prospects in the Central part of the state, with Pac-12 offers for tight end and outside linebacker. He can play on either side and is open to offense or defense, but watching him run routes and catch the ball, you see a high level pass-catcher at the next level. Cal, Oregon State, Stanford and UCLA are some of his Pac-12 offers.

Won’t be surprised to start seeing more players listed here from Modesto Christian I’m near future. They just made a huge hire,  Les, owner of Bonsu Elite athletics. Should attract some very good local talent.

Where's @Bestcoast, who was in the other thread, claiming that DLS is NorCal's all-star team?

I would have thought that if DLS was NorCal's all-star team, they'd have at least one NorCal all-star on the team.

He was saying 75% of CC of Modesto players where recruited. Lol!!! He doesn’t know squat...

It wasn’t me saying it. It was sources close to the program.

So your “source” is saying 37 of their 50 players were recruited... and that’s only varsity level. I guess all the kids that started on their youth feeders teams and play for CC are recruited? Makes sense I guess. Is your source from Oakdale?

It was hilarious when CC played in Oakdale and the announcer started saying “Minaya Olivia ( his dad was MLB catcher) from Oakdale with a big gain for CC”.  I think it upset the HC for CC because he feed Olivia all night for 4 tds and 160 yards. Announcer quit saying it after awhile.

Always dead wrong.

The second annual AveryStrong Elite 32 returned to Sacramento and there was a new tournament champion in N0 ZON3 out of Fresno, part of the Tony Perry family, the famed and legendary Fresno coach who ran DB Guru for years before his passing at the end of 2017.

The AveryStrong Elite 32, presented by DOMO Sports with Nathan Kenion of KT Prep and Terence Leonard of TMP Elite organizing the event, benefits the Avery Huffman Defeat DIPG Foundation and was sold out in advance, with 32 teams playing in Sacramento.

N0 ZON3 beat the two teams who were in the finals a year ago, KT Elite Money, in the semifinals, and TMP Elite Legacy, last year’s champion, in the finals, to win their second tournament title in the last three weeks after winning the MLUYFI Tournament, and doing so without elite 2020 receiver Jalen McMillan, who was battling the flu all weekend.

That gave 2020 receiver Tory Hortonfrom Fresno (Calif.) Edison and his Tiger teammate, 2021 receiver Velltray Jefferson, a chance to shine and they rolled to the finals after staving off a Hail Mary try from KT Elite Money in the semifinals.

In their first year as N0 ZON3, coached by Calvin Ervin and Mike Ware, former Perry disciples and another former Edison player, Shaq Moseley, they cruised through pool play, had only one game come down to a single-score, then rolled in the championship game.

The Central Valley team has talent up and down the roster, on both sides of the ball, with Jefferson, Horton and Fresno (Calif.) San Joaquin Memorial all-purpose player Mac Dalena providing most of the offensive fireworks this weekend, then using their talented defense, which included Tre Martin from Edison, Dezjhon Malone, a three-star DB from Edison, D'Andre Greeley from Bullard and Darius McCray from Washington Union. Those players should all see their recruitments take off this spring.

KT Prep and TMP Elite have some of the top prospects from the Bay Area and Sacramento on their rosters, but the top player we saw all tournament was once again Menlo (Calif.) Atherton 2021 star Troy Franklin.

The No. 1 2021 prospect in California and the CalHiSports State Sophomore of the Year, Franklin did it all for his Express team, which made it to the semifinals before falling to TMP.

Franklin is one of the elite receivers nationally in his class, and he shined there but it was also his defensive play that left a big impression. When we saw Franklin play in October, he had a 90-yard pick six in that game (plus a 50-yard screen pass he took to the house), and in the first game alone, he had two touchdown receptions and an interception. He had multiple picks throughout the tournament as well as touchdown grabs. Franklin has tremendous ball skills as a DB, top tier instincts and closing speed to get to the ball and break up passes. With offers from schools like Miami, Alabama, Tennessee, Oregon and others as a receiver, its there, though, that he’s at his finest. He’s a pristine route runner, gets good separation, excellent body skills and ability to go up and get the ball. He is already a national recruit and a top 30 prospect nationally in his class and continues to cement himself there.

Another 2021 prospect to know is Richmond (Calif.) Kennedy tight end Jermaine Terry. The 6-4, 240-pounder put on a show for his Silly U team, consistently using his size and athleticism to separate from linebackers and corners trying to cover him, showed natural pass-catching ability and soft hands and had double-digit touchdowns on Sunday.

His Silly U teammate, Richmond (Calif.) De Anza safety Jalen Henderson also impressed throughout the tournament, closing well from his spot, breaking up a slew of passes and showing good coverage ability.

Atwater (Calif.) Buhach Colony defensive back Trey Paster boasts offers from schools like Arizona, Cal and UCLA and his versatility in the secondary is a big reason why we expect his recruitment to take off even more this spring. We got our first look at Paster at this very tournament a year ago with SWAG Go, and he’s gotten even bigger in the last year, looking more like a safety but still boasting the ability to play corner with his length and fluidness. Paster played both corner and safety throughout the tournament, moving around and locking down his man.

Reno Heat from Nevada came out and had two of the best linebackers we saw on the day in Reno (Nev.) Spanish Springs’ Jackson LaDuke and Bishop Manogue’s Vai Kaho.

Kaho, the younger brother of Alabama linebacker Ale Kaho, is well put together physically, much thicker than his older brother was at the same stage, with a bigger lower base, and while he’s not the elite athlete his brother is, he may be more physical than he was at any point, and plays with an edge to him.Where Kaho really impressed was in his ability to close, taking good angles and ending plays quickly within 7-10 yards of the line of scrimmage.

LaDuke isn’t as filled out as Kaho, but has more length and a frame that could still add some more weight and he was smooth in coverage, switching between tight ends, backs and slots throughout the tournament. With LaDuke, you can see some twitch there and he did a good job of reading the quarterback and breaking on the ball for a few breakups.

Another player for the Heat we liked was Sparks (Nev.) Reed athlete Elijah Tau-Tolliver.

BTA had some good young talent we liked, notably running back Shamar Garrett from Concord (Calif.) De La Salle, who was an all-combine selection at the All-American Combine in San Antonio and just picked off his first offer last week. Also impressing were Richmond (Calif.) Kennedy quarterback Safdar McCrary and Tracy tight end Kaleo Ballungay.

MLYUFI was without electric 2022 athlete Raleek Brown from Stockton (Calif.) Edison, who was at another event this weekend, but that gave Stockton (Calif.) St. Mary’s 2021 running back Tyrei Washington a chance to shine. He too is coming off his first offer last week.

KT Prep is loaded with top players and some of the guys who stood out were both quarterbacks, Moraga (Calif.) Campolindo southpaw Grant Harper and Salinas (Calif.) quarterback Carl Richardson, who both bring different talents to the table.

San Mateo (Calif.) Serra cornerback Terence Loville, Concord (Calif.) De La Salle receiver Grant Daley and San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian’s Isaiah McElvaneas well as Stockton (Calif.) St. Mary’s receiver Jared Gipson, all had good days too for KT.

The surprise of the day for KT Prep, though, was Milpitas (Calif.) cornerback Isaiah Dwelle.  The 6-2, 185-pounder has optimal length, smooth backpedal and quick hips and was physical at the line, then locked down his man routinely in coverage.

And TMP Elite Legacy once again has a nice mix of talent from Sacramento and the East Bay, with Folsom (Calif.) receiver Elijhah Badger their top prospect. The Top247 pass-catcher is nearing 20 offers and seeing a Folsom player in 7v7 (several of them, in fact, played for TMP), was a fresh, new look and Badger showed why he’s among the elite pass-catchers in a loaded crop in 2020.

San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian defensive backs Kavir Bains and Deven Vanderbilt also caught our eye for TMP Legacy, while Vanderbilt already has a few offers, we don’t think Bains is that far off from pulling some in himself.Folsom (Calif.) LB Davion Blackwell, excelled in coverage and really impressed at his backer spot.

On offense, El Cerrito (Calif.) receiver B.J. Pierce, Stockton (Calif.) St. Mary’s athlete Elijah Wood and Granite Bay (Calif.) athlete Cobe Weeks all had good days as did Stockton (Calif.) St. Mary’s nickel/receiver Asar Alim-Moore, who was the No. 2 receiver for TMP.

The AveryStrong Elite 32 will return to Seattle in April, the second year it will also be held in the Northwest.

Don’t forget non-tenured.

You’re not skating by that one.

Always dead wrong,

Sticking his nose where it doesn't belong.

A member non-tenured,

His vision is blurred,

The kind of stupid that cannot be cured.

A member so sad,

A poem so bad.

Down is his trend,

He plummets headlong,

A trend with no bend.

A fall without end.
