Valdosta is gonna be electric on offense this year. They're gonna be a tough out for anyone they play.

how does scrimmages work? Do the starters play 1Q only?

Speaking only for Colquitt...and actually for past seasons (nobody knows how Coach Rogers will run his)...Packer starters usually play the 1st half.  Now...they do have many of the 2nd team guys salted in during the first 24 minutes...and some of the linemen do see time in the 2nd half...albeit, usually limited.

Colquitt almost always has several combinations and more than one scheme to throw together to see how it all works.  Also, it gives the staff a good look at what we need to work on.  Now the 2nd half is more wide open.  Lots of 2nd teamers and sometimes even younger guys get to show their skills.  They're encouraged to "break out"...so to speak.  And honestly...some of them do.

Colquitt prefers to come out on top in any contest they participate in.  But the BIGGEST goal is to not get key players hurt...and to learn exactly what they need to work on.  August 24th is D-Day.  I do think this will be an excellent opportunity for us to accomplish what we are looking to do.
