Ah, great High School game last night! What a crowd! Was so fun to be at.

My takeaways: DLS played great and handled the LOS, which we figured. They're QB was mediocre at best, but they're RB's and line were great, and that was the difference. They're defense was also very solid overall.

Folsom got off to a slow start and made some killer mistakes You can't do that against DLS. They did, however, show some resilience by cleaning up some things and putting points on the board. If they hadn't given up a 3rd and 21 hail mary, the game was likely to become very interesting. That sealed it IMO.  Ngata was injured to a point where Folsom didn't even try to run the ball. Even in plays where he caught passes, he was visibly shaken. No way to beat DLS without him. Badger was amazing and a man among boys. He absolutely ABUSED Hearns. He showed by he is one of the top WRs in the country.

A few tidbits to come away with:

Folsom scored 27 points against DLS. STA scored 24

Folsom threw the ball very effectively against DLS. They have been unable to do so in the past. If Ngata was healthy and they had somewhat of a running game, this game could have been interesting.

Overall, it was a fun game to watch. After the slow start, Folsom got it going on offense and made it fun. I actually thought, despite the points, Folsom played well on defense. They didn't give up many big plays and just succumbed to the ground and pound of the veer, which most people (not Academies) do.

In other Southern CA news, buried on page 27 of the funny pages:

San Diego D1AA #2 tier power Cathedral Catholic is blown out by Helix 45-27.

Cathedral Catholic ripped Centennial last week in one of the San Diego area's best wins in years. Helix #OneUps the Souther Section and BLOWS out Cathedral.

Crazy stuff in the D1AA world in San Diego!

I remember this story... isn’t that from Rumpelstilskin? yarn into gold or something like that? 😂

DLS gave up 27 points to a shitty public school team.

They gave up 24 to STA. And STA was trying to score until the very end.

Folsom was down 14 in the 3rd until DLS got lucky on a 3rd and 21 hail mary in their own territory. Changed the complexion of the game. Also, Ngata was hurt.

BTW- Badgers BURNEDDDDDDDDDD Hearns all night. Owned that dude! It was the biggest mismatch in talent I've ever seen!

Why are you yapping your mouth after another L to DLS? What a joke.

14 point game in the 3rd quarter LMFAO! Def in doubt until DLS gets a 3rd and 21 hail mary!

LMFAO!

Your boy Hearns gave up so many catches to Badger, dude can't even see straight today!

Folsom scored more points on DLS last night as ANYONE has in the last 4 years. Prior to that, only once with Bellarmine. Not bad for a shitty public school offense.

😉

Folsom scores on the last play of the half and then on their first possesion of the third quarter.  First times they moved the ball all game and yet they still trailed by 14.  Hardly in doubt.   DLS scores next 14 points to end all speculation.  Last Folsom scores were garbage time ones after DLS let off the gas.  The game was a blow out, despite your attempts at a revision.

You're hyping the Helix 45-27 win as a blow out, yet Folsoms 42-27 loss was "in doubt"?  Hilarious.  Oh, and by the way, its "their" not "they're", Mr. Grammar Police...

You’re one of those people that sees the signs at the zoo near the lion exhibit not to go beyond the bars because of, well, becoming the lion’s lunch but still go anyway and can’t understand why you now have to type with a prosthetic limb. NO common sense, self reflection or ability to admit when you’re wrong and just continue to play three card Monty thinking you’re going to win. 🙄😞 Folsom is not lucky to have you posting on their behalf.

Dude got burned so many times, he's probably got razor burn on his behind!

The fact is Folsom got there ass kicked. Down 42-14 in 4qt and got a couple garbage td’s off on side kicks. Folsom is the joke we all knew they were.

But enjoy another moral victory and good luck on another participation trophy run.

It took a 3rd and 21 miracle pass for DLS to move out any further. Game was about to be 7 points.

Apparently you took the night off.

I did not see a miracle pass.  Third and 41 is a miracle pass.  And Folsom did not score on their next possession after the DLS score, so how can you assume that the game was about to be 7 points?

How many onside kicks did STA have to kick against DLS?

DLS’s Staple Y Pop play has been non existent this year.... My guess is they don’t have a TE that they trust can break it....

At the STA game there were no defenders beyond 6 yards of the LOS virtually the whole game and that play was a TD waiting to happen....

Instead they ran the ball or threw to the sidelines....

It doesn’t surprise me they kept the ball on the ground against Folsom.... Folsom is not a physical team at all and DLS lines always dominate them....

Seeing DLS Play STA in person this year, I knew DLS vs Folsom would not be competitive....  Folsom just can’t handle the speed and Physical play of DLS, which is why this game was 42-14 in the 4th quarter and never in doubt....

Hale is awful at throwing the ball. Lol. That’s obvious to us all. Well except for @Blueliner

DLS needs a true dual threat qb to compete against the new mega teams on HSFB.

Because of field position and Folsom was lighting DLS up through the air.

No guarantee of advantageous field position, you do not know what would have happened on the punt.  Folsom had two drives to that point and the first one was a last second hail mary, so its not like they were lighting it up at that point.  They had 14 points in two and a half quarters.  Take off your blue tinted glasses and face reality.
