Edna Karr might be the best team in Louisiana this year.

Huge game tomorrow night in Baton Rouge vs Catholic.

I don't believe Catholic-BR has ever played Edna Karr so that's pretty cool too...

Using Maxpreps Top 10 Louisiana rankings.

1 John Curtis Christian (River Ridge) 3-0 29.4 --
2 Catholic-B.R. (Baton Rouge) 3-0 30.2 --
3 Edna Karr (New Orleans) 2-1 33.1 +4
4 West Monroe 2-1 28.1 -1
5 St. Thomas More (Lafayette) 3-0 16.7 --
6 Archbishop Rummel (Metairie) 3-0 30.5 --
7 Neville (Monroe) 3-0 20.6 +1
8 Brother Martin (New Orleans) 3-0 15.0 +1
9 Acadiana (Lafayette) 3-0 20.6 +6
10 Haughton 3-0 4.8 +3

Omaha Vol,

Pretty good poll....but i question Avon Ind....and Louis Trinity and Male. Ind. is way down...Avon was lucky to beat Brownsburg at home 7-3. St X thrashed Brownsburg 38-17. Trinity is better then last year but they have beaten  teams that are down this year. If your going to rank Avon then you should be ranking LWE,and ESL ,IL...Muskegon Mi, as well. The truth is none of those teams are top 50 nationally.......75-90 is more realistic IMO.

LWE, ESL, and Muskegon are all in my top 90. Mt. Carmel is also hovering in the 90-110 range.
Avon and Brownsburg are rivals and will usually have tight games.

Just like St. X/Colerain. I think St. X is more than 7 points better than Colerain this year, but the game stayed close because of that rivalry. That’s why I don’t daisy chain with my rankings.

42-39 in a game Karr didn’t get a touchdown reception called before the half which they clearly scored on (0 points) and then fumbled inside JC five on the first possession of second half (0 points) Left 14 points inside JC goal-to-go distance

Karr killed themself in that game but still could’ve won if the refs awarded a touchdown before the half they blatantly missed

Very Nice List @Omaha Vol !!!... I would argue that Mission Viejo should be in the Top 50 as I think they are very good and "Under The Radar" right now due to their lack of a "Marquee Game" this year... I do think they would beat 10-15 teams on that list...

However, their Lack of Scheduling this year holds them back right now so I am good with them being on the Outside looking in... :)

Based on what?

Not history

They lost to College Station before the last realignment. They would definitely struggle with the Top 5 teams in 5A Div 1. Honestly don't think they would beat anyone of them this season or last year. They will win state again because all the real 5A threats are Div 1. Maybe I'm sleeping on FB Marshall but just don't see it.

In the State championship by 1

Aledo has won both divisions and in their history even beat LT in the at the time the biggest 4A game and rivalry.

They've crushed current 5A 1 teams(2nd Best 5A team) from east Texas Tyler in 2014 when everybody from Texas kept thinking they would crush Aledo.

Aledo can compete and beat anyone in 5A regardless of division.

If you want to put them up there go right a head. They  not beating the top 5A 1 teams right now.

I recall back in 2014 horsefly downplaying Aledo's victory over Cedar Park, who I said was always a top 4A team.  Well Cedar Park took Ennis to the wire in the State Championship and should've won

No,  but the current teams aren't programs with sustained tradition aside from Highland Park, Denton Ryan and Lufkin a decade ago.

No,  they're not top 50

Lone Star may not have the tradition and may not sustain it over time but they're a real quality team at the moment. I underestimated them last season. We will see how the season plays out. Lufkin starting to hit it's stride again. A ton of talent coming up through the pipe line.
