We did NOT pledge to give China any money. The 100 billion pledge is to help developing countries so we don't have a "New China" on the worlds hands in the future. Here is the actual words directly from the agreement...

53. Decides that, in the implementation of the Agreement, financial resources provided to developing countries should enhance the implementation of their policies, strategies, regulations and action plans and their climate change actions with respect to both mitigation and adaptation to contribute to the achievement of the purpose of the Agreement as defined in Article 2; 54. Also decides that, in accordance with Article 9, paragraph 3, of the Agreement, developed countries intend to continue their existing collective mobilization goal through 2025 in the context of meaningful mitigation actions and transparency on implementation; prior to 2025 the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement shall set a new collective quantified goal from a floor of USD 100 billion per year, taking into account the needs and priorities of developing countries;

Bro... China already is ahead of us in investment in clean energy and reduction of emmissions. For a few years already. Our game plan: Increase coal production and drill baby drill.

No wonder they are our economic enemy and lead us everywhere. We are dumb as fuck.

Again bro why didn't the dems run this thru congress when they had control ? Obama wanted it the dems refused so he signed an ex order an agreement. How are the dems blaming Trump now? They did this,

The dems decided to take us out of the agreement?

That damned fake news had me believing Trump announced that stuff a few hours ago.

xD

Probably the same reason why Trumpcare didn't get passed the first time by. The same reason a lot of stuff doesn't get done in congress. Rather than doing what is right or best, they do what they think will keep them in office or keep the peace just a little longer.

Then again they have themselves to blame just as the cons will if they don't get their shit together

There are currently 400,000+ jobs in clean energy. Solar, wind and natural gas.

There are barely 150,000 jobs in the coal industry and constantly dwindling.

Dropping out of the Paris agreement cost jobs in those fields as the objective driving the industry is taken away with this action. Coal is not coming back.

you can't talk logic to the Trumpers....O.o

By promising to take us backward while every one else surges forward. He isn't taking us back to the front when everyone else is moving ahead while we are moving back intentionally.

By going backward on "8 years of horse shit" while everyone else is steady going forward... How do you see us moving back to the forefront?

We are moving backwards... not forward. Read the China article I posted. They're moving forward.

Us... not so much. We have "8 years of horse shit" to remove, while China is making clean energy and profit from the "horse shit".

We are fucking dumb! Squabbling while getting surpassed in everything.

It's 2017 and the President of the United States of America is trying to revive the coal industry.

That's where we're at.

Fuck.

Pulling out of the Paris Agreement would be a massive step back for racial justice, and an assault on communities of color across the U.S.

They seem to assault their communities all by themselves with no help from anyone else..

So leaving the Paris Accord is racist.  And you wonder why sensible Americans roll their eyes when hearing about racism.  It has to do something with crying wolf.  We are leaving an agreement that nearly everyone said was meaningless.  And yet Biblical apocalypse now awaits us.  Most people do not take the Left seriously because of stuff like this.

Thing is these dumb shits could have made this law in 2009. President Obama fought them like crazy they refused to even take it to the senate floor. So Obama did the best he could he signed an executive order.  Stupid fucks. Fast fwd Trump says I will pull us out of the Paris deal. He is elected and does it. Now the world is ending. Why was it not ending in 2009

Also not if the libs felt so strong about this. When President Obama agreed to this the dems controlled the senate they could have made this a treaty not an executive order. Why didn't they? Because they the libs new they would never get it to pass. The libs were dead set against it. They could have gaurenteed our entry they chose not too. Now they need to shut the frick up

Dems didn't control congress since 2010.  Much of what he did was after that, like the Paris agreement.

Btw, More jobs have been created by regulations than have been lost.

Question on climate change.  What if you are wrong?  Its a big gamble imo.  None of us on this board will be around when it gets really bad but everybody understands that we are having larger storms more frequently and every year is getting hotter right now.  Your kids and grandkids will be living in a different, hotter world.  As far as not making a big difference if we do it or not; this is such a big complex problem, the only way to solve it is by small little steps from as many countries as possible.  China and India will do what they set up for their own countries and agreed to.  China has to fix their problem for many reasons just like we do.

Even if this whole thing and 97% of scientist and the rest of the world are wrong and Trumps 35% and Repub congress are right-why not take advantage of the $$ that's going to be the clean energy future?

He only believes the science as it relates to his personal gain.

Politically?

Not so much.

"Donald Trump says he is “not a big believer in global warming.” He has called it “a total hoax,” “bullshit” and “pseudoscience.”

But he is also trying to build a sea wall designed to protect one of his golf courses from “global warming and its effects.”

Trump did dispute the science.  He said it was a Chinese hoax.  Repub in congress don't believe in it.

Its not even a deal.  Not in rmthe sense you think or Trump makes it sound.  These things we want to do is good for is.  Higher MPG is good right?  Well Trump wiped off the books steps Obama took to achieve those goals.  Why?  Imo he did it to take off the books anything Obama ever did because the hate is strong in him.  But that's for another day.

And when Dems ran congress, they were a little busy that year dealing with the financial crisis.  Too much to do and so little time.  All the while the Repubs stopped everything they could.  That's a lot on the plate.

Forgive me if I don't hold my breath on that one.

IMO this is a huge missed opportunity for a guy that promised to bring manufacturing jobs back to the States.  More than enough crossover skills to bring that workforce into the new energy age.

Oh well.
