Had a second surgery to clean things up before fall camp. (Why it took so long for him to get cleared for contact) Getting cleared for contact and being ready to play in an SEC game are completely different. I’m actually in favor of how Kirby is handling things, JT has so much football left to play. No need to rush things now, JT needs to play when he’s 100% not 80%. I do think he should get some reps before the years over to get comfortable. Probably against SCAR or Vandy, just light stuff. Watching Stetson and Dawn miss their targets over and over again was frustrating but in the long run this is a good move IMO. Plus, COVID gives everyone an extra year, no eligibility lost. If Kirby plugs JT in when not 100% and he gets hurt, his quarterback room is done.
