The nastiest Defensive Lines in America, 2021.

I think Lakeland has a chance to be among this list. Dindy is a consensus 5*, Keanist Thompson is between a 3* and 4*, and this Levaughn Brown kid could well be however many stars he wants. I think Lakeland needs to play Dindy mostly at DT and they need to get KT on the field more, as they used him in the Zipperer role last year (mainly a TE, 3rd downs on DL).

Check the record books to learn about Lakeland's 2003 team and what followed.

4A Monroe Neville, La has a nice DL.

5* Will Campbell (6-6 290 lbs, LSU commit) is a man on the OL/DL.

"Neville fans look forward to seeing Campbell dominate on the outside like he has in years passed, but rest assured, Tannehill plans on using Campbell on both sides of the ball again this fall, especially in big games. And that’s perfectly fine with Campbell."

3* DT Enyce Sledge (6-4 310 lbs) is a Baylor commit

Class of 2023 3* DT Zalance Heard (6-5 300 lbs)-has Ole Miss and Texas offers so far. Could be a 4* in a couple years.

They have a couple younger guys with some FCS offers they will get in there too.

Monroe Neville is one the favorites in Louisiana 4A this year, like they always are.

Colquitt County is going to be pretty decent. All they lack is the stars by their name.

It's a valid question, unfortunately. But, even though I thought they didn't give Thompson enough snaps (they don't like to use true two-way players as you know), it wasn't the fault of the DL. The back seven on defense featured two LBs who were shockingly unathletic, small and slow. And the rest of the back seven was greener than Kauai. Similar story with the offense. The 2020 team was one that was particularly hurt by losing spring practice, as well as two weeks in August/September where the team was not allowed to be together in any capacity. They were going to be down regardless, but Covid made it much worse due to having so little experience or established leadership. The more a team is dependent upon the program-coaching, player development, molding of cohesive units etc- the more they were harmed by the plague.

If Lakeland gets a boost at QB-either through the launching of a pistol attack seen on spring hudl tapes, and/or replacing Martin with the Winter Haven transfer at QB- you just might be seeing them in the state final. Oddly, we may see STA play a Lakeland team that has a loss on its record for the first time. The combination of a rugged schedule with a still young team may produce a loss while sharpening the team enough for a playoff run. They have an unusual (for them) level of depth all over the field this year. They aren't beating STA this year, but we may make it to face them, and make a respectable enough showing that they become the favorites in 2022.

Is a transfer from Bastrop, La......family moved to Monroe.

West Monroe used to win those battles.

Be interesting to see what that Neville DL does this year.
