Officially Montiel, a right back I couldn't pick out of a lineup, scored the winning goal...which is kinda cool, but also kinda random. Messi and Mbappe pushed each other to soaring heights, delivering an EPIC final on the biggest stage of any game in sport, and it seems a shame for it to be decided by a goalie randomly choosing to dive right rather than left...More skill than luck brought the game to PK's, and more luck than skill determined the outcome... This game will be remembered for Messi and Mbappe, and the guy who booted the winner will be the answer to a trivia question. Still I respect your point. Almost always both teams playing tentatively to not give away a goal so nothing happened. PKs aren't great but IMO when both teams know the deal going in, it is what it is.
