Also had one of these. Couldn't resist when I saw it. It was pretty good, but I'm left wondering why it's an ale and not a porter or stout?

I wonder the same thin about that Mandarin Chief beer from Back Forty.

It's called a Black Imperial Pale Ale, but it's more like a stout than an ale.

Hell how can it be "black" and "pale" at all? Haha.

I actually meant it the opposite. The smore beer actually drinks and tatses like an ale........I think it would be even better if they made it a porter or stout

I just haven't really tried a "bourbon barrel" beer that I like. I like bourbon. I like beer. I need their flavore to be separate though.

Sometimes I feel that way, but sometimes I love them.

Really love Kentucky bourbon barrel beer

Also Anderson valley had a very good one that was aged in Wild Turkey barrels.

Tried a few beers that were aged in rum barrels and tequila barrel staves and those beers were awful.

I’m kind of with Hawg in finding that happy medium for the bourbon aged. But Anderson Valley is good. Never been to the brewery it’s only about 65 miles form me, but it’s kind of in BFE. Will prob make the trek one day.

I need to do the tour at Russian River. Place is huge!

I guess I have a smorgasboard to choose from for tonight. No plans to go anywhere. Just gonna continue watching bowl games and get started on some beers soon.

I have 4 Sam Adams Winter Lagers left. (Not my favorite is why I still have 4)

2 Funky Buddah Sticky Treats that I've been saving because I really like them and they're a seasonal release. I'm afraid their may not be more for a while.

1 Harpoon Dunkin' Coffee Stout

5 Rye Charles left of 12 I brought in the night of the Geico games.

Probably gonna chill me a glass and jump on the Rye Charles. Then take a night cap from that Michter's unblended that I've been working on.

Damn! That is huge.

Both breweries that I've visited are very small compared to that.

I’m grilling some New York’s so in all honesty, I’ll have 4-6 silver bullets while manning the BBQ then be done with the panther piss water and move onto some beer. Like you a have a mixed bag and a lot of singles.

Yes it’s enormous, I was surprised how huge it was. Most brewers I’ve gone to are relatively small.

I guess they have to be pretty big to have as large a "menu" as they have.

I'm guessing here by the part of Pretoria Fields that I've seen which includes the brewery... 10k square ft. maybe. That includes a green space the tap room and everything.

Back Forty is probably double that but they have a kitchen and game room with ping pong and stuff.

10k is what I’d say most breweries I’ve been to as well.

Appropriate beer for the Patriots yesterday:

maine-beer-company-mean-old-tom-stout-be

Sticking with the boring but dependable Fuller's London Pride tonight.

Is the Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout any good? Saw it at Wegman's but hard to justify $25.99 for 25.9 oz. I love the regular Breakfast Stout but not a fan of the Kentucky version. Probably gone now anyway.
