Is Patrick Mahomes a top 5 QB or better all time?

Without doing a bunch of research only Brady and Montana would rank better right now imo.

He has tied Aikman with 3 superbowls. Jerry cost Aikman at least 2 more.

I rank him above Manning, Aikman, Elway, Favre, Bradshaw, Staubach  and Aaron Rodgers.

IMO he is in the Marino, Drew Brees, Johnny Unitas level right now.

Mahomes does not have the stain of cheating like Brady has.

Blast away.

I think Aaron Rodgers was better. Was held back by less than stellar teams (overall) at times.

Brees, Marino, Brady, Peyton Manning all were better.

I think if Marino played on a good team nowdays he could throw for 7000 yards in a season. He just happened to play for Shula.

All these experts claim Marino had the best passing mechanics ever and the quickest release.

Marino was a freak. Probably the most gifted passer in league history.

Mahomes is the best QB of this era. You can't really compare him to the 90s because the rules were so much different.

Brady doesn't play 20 years in that era.

Josh Allen is better than Marino.  Marino was a statue.

Certainly he’s more athletic and has the arm strength advantage also, although Dan could sling it.

Quick release was Dan’s thing.  He had a solid OL and very good WR’s (Mark’s)

I still laugh at the memory of missing Dan’s one SB game for an Iron Maiden concert in NY.  😂 Was freezing that night too.
The lead singer provided the final score during the concert.  😃

I'd would have gone to the concert to. Who opened for them?

Another 80's guy who could throw it was Dan Fouts.

Indeed he could.

Like with Marino, he just needed a better D.
The bolts under Air Coryell was as good as it gets for O entertainment and on a grass home field.

I was so bummed when they faced Cincy in a Siberia environment playoff game.

You recall I’m sure @HooverOutlaw the infamous Chargers-Dolphins game… the great TE Winslow needed help walking off the field as he was totally drained.   What a game that was!

So hard to rate QB’s (era, rules, team sport)…

Bradshaw will never get the full praise he deserves.
He called his own plays and was as tough as a QB could be, but he also had a lot of HOF help from teammates and a Jackie Smith drop also helped for one ring.

But his individual stats weren’t dominant as in top 5 level.

This year especially, Mahomes deserves all the accolades thrown at him.   His stats and SB hardware are impressive.

Cowboys should have won that game.
