All those d1 players and you can't finish off a team you all destroyed a year ago?

Yeah, because they were on the road against a more experienced team and weren't good enough.

But you think that's an excuse.

So let's review...

Columbiafan: How does STA lose anyway!

Guccifer: (gives explanation)

Columbiafan: That's an excuse!

So you ask, I respond and then you say that any response is an excuse.

It's so silly that it's unbelievable.

You vs the computers...

Calpreps AZ
1    Chandler (AZ)
2    Perry (Gilbert, AZ)
3    Centennial (Peoria, AZ)
4    Saguaro (Scottsdale, AZ)
5    Mountain Pointe (Phoenix, AZ)
6    Pinnacle (Phoenix, AZ)
7    Liberty (Peoria, AZ)
8    Hamilton (Chandler, AZ)
9    Notre Dame Prep (Scottsdale, AZ)
10    Salpointe Catholic (Tucson, AZ)

MaxPreps AZ
1    Chandler                          12-2    62.4    39.8    --
2    Perry (Gilbert)                 12-2    54.2    33.3    --
3    Centennial (Peoria)        12-1    48.3    28.4    --
4    Saguaro (Scottsdale)    12-2    46.5    25.4    +1
5    Mountain Pointe            10-3    44.5    32.2    -1
6    Pinnacle (Phoenix)         9-4    40.1    31.4    +2
7    Liberty (Peoria)              11-2    39.9    19.1    +2
8    Hamilton (Chandler)      8-4    38.2    35.5    +2
9    Notre Dame Prep          13-1    37.9    18.1    -3
10    Salpointe Catholic      12-2    37.0    16.0    -3

First off, what was your point? Second, arent CalPreps and MaxPreps rankings the same computer?

And Omaha, my initial “silly” comment only had to do with naming Perry as the 2nd best in AZ. I think Centennial is clearly 2nd without a small possibility that they are 1st over Chandler.

All year people where claiming how unimpressive IMG was all while they won every game by two scores.

The fanboys on this board are comically bad at almost everything.

Most games they don't look impressive but they still continue to win against good squads.  They don't duck competition either.  That said, I can't recall a time when I've seen them and said that they look like the best team in the country.  I've had 20/40 vision for awhile though.

That's correct.  IMG looks a little better than the teams they play, but don't always get complete separation via the "eye test".  On the other hand Mater Dei does get that separation

If Centennial beat STA and you call Az garbage that makes STA TRASH... It's where I made the leap.

So by leap you mean that you totally made something up.

And you claimed that I said that Venice was trash, not STA.

You're so incompetent that you can't even get this right.

You are right. You never called Venice trash. I admit I jumped into the conversation when I assumed you were calling Venice trash.

Why isn't Venice #32 in his poll?

Is Venice above average or not? I believe they are just because of their wins this season.

Computers don't watch football-I do. As far as I'm concerned any computer ranking that hides behind a secret proprietary formula is illegitimate.

Why waist time trying to rank teams nationally...It's all mythical hardly any of it is proven on the field!

Pollsters decided going into the season MD was the #1 team.  What did they really base that on?  Losing vs SJB in the playoffs the year before?  Returning players?  If you are going to base it on players across the board hand the trophy over to IMG they have more talent than anyone else.

Why just give teams (including Texas Schools) mythical national championships?  Something like this should only be giving if it can truly be earned on the field.

National polls ranking HS football are Bogus.

Centennial very well could beat Perry head-to-head. I just like how Perry ended the season with a nice run (wiping the floor with Mtn Pt and hanging with Chandler). Just my opinion, but I tend to follow the advice of the one's who actually follow their respective states closer than I do. With that being said, I just might flip Cen10 and Perry after further review.

Perhaps next season some of you with local knowledge could assist Omaha, myself and others as we attempt to put these things together.   Our goal is to provide something for discussion but also to try to determine (in my case) the Top 100 teams in the country at the end of each season.    No matter what we end up with there will always be criticism which is the nature of all polls.   Someone asked Omaha earlier if he had seen all these teams play.    I try to watch as many games as I can yet I have not even seen most of the teams in Indiana play, which I rank for the Indiana Gridiron Digest.    You rely on other sources, internet sites, news clippings and state chat rooms to arrive at how you think the teams stand up against teams from across the country when in fact you do not have an effective barometer to measure them by.    It is not like college football where the top teams play each other or at least have common opponents.   Debate and discussion are great things, name calling and anger are not.   We have enough of that outside of this forum.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I don't understand why you have so many Ga teams in your Top 50....and you leave out the one team that is.  Lowndes probably is Top 25.  If Colquitt beats North Gwinnett....they'll be Top 150.  And if North Gwinnett wins....they'll be Top 50.  Archer is probably Top 100.  The rest is minutia.

Lowndes is the biggest choke artist in the peach state for 2017

Top 25 teams don't blow a double digit 4th quarter lead at home as heavy favorites

You can't prove it on the field either, since sometimes the better team loses.

A head-to-head matchup is just another piece of evidence for evaluating how good one team is relative to another.

Make your case. Pretty good poll in my opinion. You can't just do a drive by and expect to be respected on this board. You have to beat Ohama in the pick em's before you can even comment on his top 50 [...]

What does pick em' have to do with a football poll? [...]

If you do well in the Pick Em, that's evidence that you can reliably judge whether one team is better than another, which is evidence that you can put together a poll that reflects the relative quality of football teams.

And in general, you should criticize another's work only if you've got something better to offer.

Otherwise you're a parasite whose work depends for its existence on the work of others.

There are a lot of parasites on this board.

No it isn't.

It's evidence that you're relatively good at educated guessing.

Omaha Vol admitted that he hasn't watched all of the teams that he ranks.

It's a all a ruse.
