Haha. You mean those players are from all over the country in the SEC. If it was just ga players the SEC would be demoted to the NAIA. Hope this helps.

Not.... quite... right, Padre. Close but no blunt, ese.

NAIA is involved yes, but Cali greyshirts are sent down for enrichment.

Glad to be of assistance.

That Servite team squeaked by Alemany 19-17 in 1982. Down 10-0 at the half, they mounted a comeback just to win.

They also squeaked by Saint Paul(23-20), and beat Loyola on a bad snapped punt that they scored on(Fluky play to score on your own bad snapped punt)

That 1982 Servite team is nowhere near the 2017 Mater Dei team. 1982 Servite went life and death 3 times that season in Cali, Mater Dei didn't with better opposiition in its way

I stand by my comments about ‘82 Servite.  USA Today’s final ranking at #4-with a loss- was confirmation of their excellence.

And, by the way, it was not until 1994 that USA Today ranked s CA team #1 (Mater Dei).

USA Today is the worst poll ever.

The NSNS poll was the oldest> started in 1910.

There's no point.  You said it(USA Today) was the only poll back then.  Which I disproved.

I was saying it was the only popular poll at the time. Most of us on here know that the USAT poll is a joke. I would hope that you would think, of all people, I would know that.

My point is that Fontana was a Cali power in the 80’s.

No disagreement.  But I stood on the sidelines of ‘97 Hampton (Ronald Curry), in the stands of ‘82 and ‘80 Moeller, in the stands of the best of Southlake Carroll, Mojo ( late ‘80’s), Valdosta (late ‘80’s),, Iggy ( early and mid ‘90’s), Annandale (early 70’s-at least one poll had them as national champions), I saw Evangel Christian in Shreveport 30 or so years ago and Plano ( same time frame) and even saw DLS at home in Concord in the late 90’s ( sold slides to Waterworld).  And Mater Dei.  Twice.

And five hundred or more hs games around the US in more than 30 years of heavy travel. In my 71 years I’ve been truly fortunate to be obsessed with hs ball and to have seen a lot of it around the country.

Faust’s Moeller teams, for the time,, were unparalleled.

I think he and Coach Lad at DLS are the best I have ever seen.  And ‘97 Hampton... Ronald Curry who must now be approaching forty is the best player I ever saw.  I honestly believe his Hampton team in his jr year would have beat anyone.
