Are flowing thru South Georgia this week for the start of spring football at Colquitt County.

And the Hawgs have a brand new state of the art IPF......just for the occasion.

Go figure....

(Smile)

Wimps....☺️

Do they have hair dryers and make up mirrors in the new state of the art IPF?

Might get wet in route to the IPF or does Colquitt bus them over lol

Just messing with you!

There are hair dryers and mirrors in the new IPF.  There are also curling irons and straightening combs.  The filtration system includes a water softener and each individual shower has its own digital temperature setting.  Of course...these are only for the coaches....(Smile).

The IPF is about 50 yards from the school....so in inclement weather...our cheerleader squad (a sizeable one) escorts our coaches from the school to the IPF using some VERY NICE Packer umbrellas.

The PLAYERS ?

Hell...they ain't gonna melt.....

Yes let’s spend millions of dollars  on an unnecessary ipf because poor little Georgia is afraid of a half inch of snow and a little rain..... .... at the end of the day who’s team is gonna win .,, the team that is used to playing in Bad weather or the team that is used to playing in a controlled environment

sorry Hoss but they aren’t gonna compete with the teams that are giving thier blood and sweat in the terrible weather conditions

The entire east coast and much of the Midwest is subject to severe thunderstorms as well as the southeast.  I got blown off a bicycle by a lightning strike once on the way home from practice in MA.

Inside or out, it’s still football practice to Packers

Packers first spring indoors

Marvion McDonald and Jaycee Harden throw footballs to young Colquitt County High receivers Tuesday, the first day of spring practice.

MOULTRIE – The only differences: there are walls and a roof overhead.

Otherwise, there’s still a clock counting down period times and keeping up with the number of periods. There are still position stations from one corner of the 100-yard field to another. There is still head coach Rush Propst going from station to station watching as his staff doesn’t let one little detail go unchecked.

Tuesday was the first day of Colquitt County High’s spring football practice for the upcoming 2018 season. If you want to see the starting lineup – those who can participate anyway – get to the new indoor facility around 6 a.m.

In the afternoon, its a look at future Packer starters, this past season’s freshmen or next season’s 9th graders.

The irony of the day is that dark clouds hovered over Moultrie most of the day bringing some scattered heavy rain showers. That’s just one of the major benefits of practicing indoors.

Some Packers will also say it’s great preparation for the 2018 season opener at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. There, Colquitt plays McEachern High.

“It’s a way to get out of the sun and rain, and heat conditions,” said defensive end Kree Herring. “It’s fun practicing in here.”

“It feels like outside,” said running back Daijun Edwards. “It’s a little bit hot in here, but that’s alright.”

Colquitt County will return to Tom White Field at Mack Tharpe Stadium at 10 a.m. Saturday for an intra-squad scrimmage. The second one of the spring is Friday, May 25, at 7 p.m.

I don't think that picture does him justice.

Especially on mobile, not in landscape mode.

If you helped prep the site then I can understand how this damage occurred. What was it, 25 mph winds and 2 inches of rain?

Have you ever been sailing?  Then you would understand that the screening on the fence turned it into a giant sail that is nothing to be messed with.  I can't tell from this picture but I have to assume there aren't any wind relief slots/half moons cut into the screen.  I'm guessing 6'x10' sections so you've got around 420 sq ft of sail area there.  That's nothing to be trifled with.

I have a river birch in my front yard that is is probably 20 feet away from the garage part of the house.  We had a toad choker the other day and and the top of the 40-45 foot tree was slapping the roof of the garage.  That wasn't even a storm anyone got excited about.
