Please post your excuses for doubting the chosen ones. Upset of the Week. @Cal 14 would like to contribute early and often. Followed by @Nolebull813, who will have to dig back into his archives to irrelevant years to find a compliment for the Friars. @ThunderRam if he's still around can atone for his mocking posts. We will also give early posting preference for @ECHS05 for pimping Marietta nationally, and for @hardhit1 for his support of Trinity* Midwest power football. The Utah East supporters should also receive posting preference this week, and we will hold the door open for the Florida guys later in the day. ECHS05 Posted August 25, 2018 Report Share Posted August 25, 2018 Marietta... --- too many injuries --- too many 2 way player because of injuries AND ineligible players --- the offense is too sluggish to start every game, they get going in the 2nd half, but by then its usually too late --- Marietta is getting great experience, theyve played 2 teams that are ranked in the Top 25 in multiple polls, and still have Grayson & St. Johns in 2 of their next 3 games. They have time to get it together. MOST of this talent will be back NEXT year. The only real loss will be WR Ramel Keyton, but most of the rest return and playing these games this year will help for next year. --- Most of all, the offense has the talent to (if they can stop the sluggish 1st half starts) win some games in the playoffs. They'll be a dangerous team. Last year, Marietta made the playoffs as the #5 seed in their Region. In 7A, the #32 seeded team (dead last) is an At Large bid, and thats the only way they got in at 6-4. The only thing I've done of late is point out that Folsom might be as good as the rest of the Trinity beyond the big 2. You and I had our back and forth over the years regarding the Rocklin-Servite D1 title game in 2009 --- but beyond that, I've not taken shots at your Servite boys or even your personal alma mater. Another WR, Jermaine Burton, wasnt able to establish residence here and said F it, he tried Hoover and was denied, now hes at Calabasas CA. Theyve also been hit with a rash of injuries (Kimani Vidal being the most vital)... Theyve got serious potential... Congrats... and congrats to the Friars for putting together such a Folsom-esque non-league schedule.
