Top Recruits Who Could Star in the TXHSFB Playoffs

The bEast represented again.  500 Students

3A-DI

2022 WR DJ Allen (5'11, 180) - Gladewater:
Allen is rated as a composite four-star prospect and has explosive qualities that allow him to dominate at the 3A level.  His combination of physicality and quickness off the line make him a mismatch nightmare. Allen is currently listed as a soft commit for TCU and used official visits to Baylor, Arkansas and USC in June.

4A-DII  623 Students

2023 RB Tre Wisner (5'11, 180) - Waco Connally:
The toughest bracket to pick out a clear-cut top prospect. Several highly-rated talents are ranked very closely together, but Wisner has the type of speed and explosion that should ultimately place him highest on the DCTF Hot 100 list.

4A-DI.  Yes this Division has the best RB in the State 5*

1154 Students.  This is the Class with Argyle and LBJ

2023 RB Rueben Owens II (5'11, 185) - El Campo:
Owens was the first-ever freshman to win positional MVP honors at the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase. Since then, he has become a national name, collecting offers from every major brand in college football and putting up monster stats. Owens is in the running to be the state's No. 1 prospect.

5A-DII 1731 Students

2024 QB Dylan Raiola (6'3, 210) - Burleson:     Looks like Patrick Mahomes and is a great Baseball player too
Burleson features the state's brightest up-and-coming star under center. Raiola--the son of former Nebraska All-American Dominic Raiola--has picked up recent offers from schools like Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, Notre Dame and Texas. He has the makings of a future five-star prospect.

Class of 2024 Burleson, TX Pro Style Quarterback Dylan Raiola was in Lincoln for Nebraska Friday Night Lights and put on a show in front of Huskers Head Coach Scott Frost and QB Coach Mario Verduzco. Raiola is the son of former Huskers/NFL Center Dominick Raiola.

5A-DI  2117 Students  This kid looks bigger in person/they also use him at RB

2023 OLB Anthony Hill (6'2, 225) - Denton Ryan:
The 2023 composite five-star is a terror on the defensive side of the football. The Raiders will need to play exceptional defense to win another state title, and Hill will be the centerpiece. He has already collected 30 scholarships from the nation's top-rated programs.

6A-DII  2,669 Students

Please flip and come to UT 🤘

2022 OT Kelvin Banks Jr. (6'5, 300) - Summer Creek:
The DCTF five-star offensive lineman is committed to Oregon, but Texas has kept the pressure on in this recruitment. Banks is a load of trouble upfront and is an equally skilled pass and run blocker.

6A-DI  4,505 Students

2022 CB Denver Harris (6'1, 180) - Galena Park North Shore:
The No. 1 prospect in the DCTF Class of 2022 Hot 100 is considering offers from schools like Texas, Texas A&M and Alabama. The five-star prospect missed some time early this season with a knee injury, but his ability to lockdown one-half of the field will help the Mustang's title hopes.

Joey McGuire

https://www.texasfootball.com/article/2021/11/08/breaking-texas-tech-hires-baylor-assistant-txhsfb-coaching-legend-joey-mcguire-head-coach?ref=article_preview_title

Former Cedar Hill coach named Head Coach at Texas Tech.  2 HS football coaches from Tx elite programs including Gilmer's former Coach were the frontrunners. UTSA stepped up.

The first name that materialized was UTSA head coach Jeff Traylor. The former Gilmer High School head man took over in 2020 and is turning the Roadrunners into a G5 power. UTSA is 9-0 in 2021 and that success allowed the school to extend Traylor through 2031 with a contract worth $28 million dollars to keep programs such as Texas Tech at bay.

McGuire is in the same mold as Traylor. In fact, McGuire turned down the UTSA job prior to Traylor taking over. McGuire also made his name in the high school coaching ranks, leading Cedar Hill in South Dallas to three state championships during his tenure. Now in his fifth season at Baylor, McGuire is the associate head coach and outside linebacker coach for the Bears.

Yes sir and that kid from Tenaha. A 4* kid from old 1A.  That's crazy.  If people knew just how small those towns are.  And those little ass schools have some fast kids. How the hell you get 4 kids running in the 42s that size.  As a track guy that blows me away.

Playoffs have started:

North Shore, Paetow, Westfield, and West Orange all roll to easy wins. I'm going with Paetow as my dark horse team. Wish they were in D2. Doesn't appear to be any shockers tonight.

Damn look at the Frisco Lone Star score. It won't be that easy next game. Some of these poor teams really don't have any business making the playoffs to get slaughtered like that.

bEast Texas is different when it comes to small ball and the talent it produces.  Just look at the HOF and NFL Record books.  Here is a 1A kid (Robert Hunt) Burkeville, Texas.  Made national news tonight with his play during the Dophins vs Ravens.  It didn't count but he was athletic as hell.   These are schools that have about 100 - 160 HS kids.  But look what it has produced    He got a signed guitar from SLASH as well tonite by the NFL Network.

Burkeville has a long-standing tradition of football excellence in the state of Texas. The Burkeville Mustangs won state in football in 1986 and 2001 in class 1A.

Yes one of the Steel Curtain crew was from little old Burkeville.  What's funny the most feared one Mean Joe Greene is from Temple Texas.  50% of the Steel Curtain from the Lone Star State.  Both From the PVIL not UIL 🤘

Ernie Holmes- Former NFL defensive tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers (1971-1977) and New England Patriots (1978) and 2x Super Bowl champion. He was part of the legendary Steel Curtain Pittsburgh Steelers' defense along with fellow linemen Joe Greene, Dwight White, and L. C. Greenwood.

Robert Hunt- NFL Offensive Lineman for the Miami Dolphins

bEast Texas Robert Hunt athletic as hell for a big man on a play that didn't count.  1A Kid.

@Horsefly and I was discussing 4A - 6A concerning contenders in each Class.  Going to be some great matchups going forward and yes many have no damn business in the Playoffs.  Gilmer had 50 at the half in their game vs.  Mexia and ended with 71 - 14

Potential upset alert: Barbers Hill and FB Marshall are tied at 21 in the 3rd.

Gonna be a bad night for FB schools if them and Hightower both lose. Don't think PAM has it in them though to beat Hightower.

Oh wow that's interesting.

Temple leads Waxahachie 14-7 at half in my game.

Dave Campbells has them as favorite to face Aledo. That would be shocking if they go down now.
