Duncanville breaks old national record in 4x100 relay but finishes second to Atascocita
Duncanville’s team of Ayson Theus, Dakorien Moore, Brayden Williams and Caden Durham runs 39.65, but sees Humble Atascocita run 38.92.

LISTEN
Duncanville provided one of the most spectacular performances in U.S. high school track and field history on Saturday, breaking a legendary national record in the boys 4x100-meter relay. But Duncanville’s breathtaking time of 39.65 from Rice University’s Victor Lopez Classic won’t go down as the new national record or even as the new state record.

That’s because Humble Atascocita beat Duncanville by running 38.92, becoming the first high school team to ever break 39 seconds in the 4x100 relay. Atascocita destroyed the previous national record of 39.76 that was run by Fort Worth O.D. Wyatt back in 1998.

Atascocita and Duncanville will likely meet again at the state meet May 4 at the University of Texas’ Mike A. Myers Stadium, as they are both 6A schools. It would be the most anticipated matchup in Texas history.

Duncanville had been ranked No. 6 in the nation this season with a time of 40.66, but the team of Ayson Theus, LSU football pledge Dakorien Moore, Brayden Williams and LSU football/track signee Caden Durham obliterated that time. It was the second time that Duncanville has broken 40 seconds in school history, as Durham was part of the 4x100 team that won the Class 6A state title in 2022 by running 39.98.

Theus, Moore and Durham were all standouts on Duncanville’s football team that won a second consecutive 6A Division I state title this fall. Moore is a five-star wide receiver who is the state’s No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2025, and Durham is a four-star senior running back who was The Dallas Morning News’ All-Area Offensive Player of the Year.

LSU football signee Jelani Watkins, a four-star wide receiver, ran the anchor leg for Atascocita in a race that featured the top three times in the nation this season. Before Saturday, only seven schools in U.S. history had broken 40 seconds, with all of them being from Texas, and Saturday’s race was so fast that Katy Tompkins finished third and ran 40.01.

These teams can't run with the Small teams at the Texas Relays.  They are going to get smoked by 20 meters. 😁  Scotlandville 6th fastest in la.  Ran at the Texas Southern Relays.  They are the fastest 4x400 in la. with a 3:20:07.  That dog ain't gonna hunt with Dville who has ran a 3:11 this year that equates to a 100m difference.  Hilarious.

Meanwhile Cali bringing the speed with the #1,2,and 5th fastest teams in the State to Texas.  Fast 4x100 teams for sure.  The GHA schools will not be running neither will Desoto.  At least 3 of these teams have a good chance to make the finals.

Thanks to NOLA's Jalani Watkins running anchor. Will be fun watching him play football at LSU the next 4 years. I would assume he's going to run track too.

Also, where is Landon Fontenot from bubba 2A bro? 😄

Atascocita clocked in at 38.92 seconds with Tory Blaylock, Landon Fontenot, Jordan Parker and Jelani Watkins blazing to victory. The Eagles beat the mark of 39.76 set by Fort Worth O.D.

Catholic Baton Rouge,

Catholic-BR has produced a whopping 6 NFL RBs

The fastest of the 6 was Warrick Dunn who clocked a 10.3 when he ran track and played football at Florida State.

Can't wait for bubba 2A bro to laugh at Catholic-BR and make a fool out of himself yet again!

Former Catholic-BR RB Travis Minor also went to Florida State and played in the NFL. He won the Louisiana 5A State Track Championship running a 10.39 100 meters in 1996.

You are so weak the Watkins kid has been in Texas for all of his HS years - shit fire son he was developed and groomed playing and training with some of the best.  The other kid Fontenot was  here in Junior high as Derrick Blaylock posted about him at Middle School track meet that feeds Atascocita back in 2020.

Summary:

Both kids learned/trained relay racing in TX.

Maybe if you keep discussing TX track with him, he’ll tell you he ran track in HS with a “what’s it to you” mention, similar to his fake persona of playing hs varsity baseball and football, that he shared on this board prior.  😂

I don't really care if you want all the credit. Take it.

That's what this forum is for.

Watkins brother was pretty fast at Riverside Academy in NOLA also. He was a 4* RB coming out of high school. That entire family has track DNA, but you wouldn't know the first damn thing about it.

Derrick Blaylock is an East Texas Kid from Atlanta, went to SFA and had a pretty decent career in the NFL.  None of them kids ran track anywhere in La. at any high school.  That's stupid.  Can't show one meet they ran with A La. HS team.  You can't find 4 kids anywhere on any team in La running a sub 42.00.  That's all you need to know.  Hell even Oklahoma and Mississippi smaller populations have Schools under 42.00.  Matter of fact MS has 2 and Oklahoma has 1.  Union has ran a 41.78.  Hell the fastest team in New Mexico would be top 10 in La.  They will get smoked this weekend at the Texas Relays.  Just like last year.  Their fastest team was at the Texas Relays last year and didn't even make the finals nor win their heat.

STA is one of the strongest programs in FL.  Right now they have ran a 41.42 that would put them 10 meters faster than any team in La.  Yet in Fl they are 5th with 14 teams sub 42.00.  Something no one in La. has done this year 😁.  Iron sharpens Iron.

Gents going to forego the Texas Relays for the 1st time in years and go to my first UFL Game.

Arlington Renegades vs. Birmingham Stallions.  XFL Champ vs. USFL Champ to open the season at Choctaww Stadium.  Game is at Noon then will roll over and hang out at Texas Live.  I've seen all the Track and Field stars except Lyles in the last few years.  His brother is running the 100m.  Also Bowling will run on the USA RED 4X400

USA RED

MIchael Cherry

Quincy Hall

Matthew Bowling

Remember the old SuperStars Competition.  Herschel Walker ran a freaking 9.37 100 yard dash.  That converts to a 10.25 100m.  That is insane for that dude to be that big and that fast.  He got Green in this one.  I remember O.J. running a 9.5 100yd dash back then

Holy fuck ferret face…you start countless threads about LA. everything…and inject your shithole state in countless other threads. I know you block me but calling your chinless red neck pathetic self out.  You prop up LA. sports, no one cares.  Remember when your “ great” team traveled a thousand miles per point scored to get punched in the mouth and bloodied by the Guido’s from Ramsey, NJ?

No one here gives a flying Fook about anything he posts.  A troll trying to get La attention.  It's like the ugly bitch at the Prom that no one dances with but keeps jumping up and down on the dance floor. Plus that dude looks like Ms. Doubtfire

This Prep School is building a DFW Girls elite team.

Legion Prep is starting to attract elite recruits from around the Dallas area. Oklahoma State signee Kennedy Evans transferred from Denton Braswell and played her senior year at the prep school this year, and Legion Prep just announced that four-star sophomore Kamora Pruitt from DeSoto is transferring there. Pruitt is rated the 20th-best player in the nation in the Class of 2026.

I enjoyed watching collegiate wrestling over the weekend and seeing a Michigan heavyweight make it to the finals and overachieving.

But I won’t post I wrestled in HS. 😂

When are you going to pull up your skirt and inform the board you lied about being an athlete?
