So I checked in with the EMS Chief that replaced me back in March...ya know, just to see how he was transitioning into his promotion, and if I could be of assistance in any way considering the shit storm that I left him with...and since I don't have much else to do locked in my house. He's good to go, as it turns out, because he's a pretty squared away mofo. 

We got to talking about the dreaded Chinese Wuhan Virus (shock) and how it's been affecting the county over the past 60 days. I'm not gonna lie, for my own personal gratification, I asked him how the phase I plan that I put together had worked out so far. He informed me that it was overkill (shock), but everything was ok and status quo on that front. Gee...what a shock (again). Back if Feb. I knew that the resources that I was ordering, the ridiculous response matrix that I/we were developing, and the expenditures spent to set this whole plan in motion, to the end, were going to hamstring the district (taxpayers) for years to come financially and organizationally. In my own defense, mind you, the response was at the time consistent with what the hysterical (liberal) politicians expected us to do with this overblown, media-driven shit show. I was simply following orders.

So to make a long story short. Here's some stats for you guys:

*911-EMS responses are DOWN 60% from Feb 1- May 15th. SIXTY PERCENT.  We run roughly 140K EMS runs annually. I'm blow away considering what I was used to dealing with in the field and office.

*Cardiac arrest responses are UP 220% in that same time frame. We run approx. 500 cardiac arrests annually. This is especially concerning. Families are waiting 'til their loved one is dead (from other illnesses or disease) before they call. So if my math is right, we'll roughly 1,750 cardiac arrests in 2020 with these continued lockdowns. W-T-F?

*Domestic Violence/Violence responses are UP 76%. Nuff said.

*Drug ODs/Alcohol related call are UP 57%. Nuff said.

Citizens are CLEARLY not calling 911 due to the media-generated fear of this fucking virus. 

...and here's the kicker. We have 29 deaths (allegedly) from the Wuhan Virus in a county of over 1.5 million. 14 hospital personnel infected whom all recovered. ZERO first responders infected. ZERO. Hospital beds and ICUs are empty according to the new Chief. 

I'd like to hear some thoughts about these numbers. Perhaps there are some fucking Einsteins out there that explain this away and give me some piece of mind.
