The last guy was a nobody from a small college that had no high school experience whatsoever. Pepper Johnson has coached in the NFL, mostly under Bill Belichick. I agree that coaching is the number one element that will determine wether a program is successful or not. Especially at the HS and at the NCAA levels. Columbia beat IMG the same year with a former NFL player as the head coach and Columbia has been in playoffs every year he's been head coach And since when was a mater Dei team coming off a national championship and still loaded in D1 players an inferior team?
