Prime time was a ratings dream for a cup of coffee but reality says that nobody turns a 1-11 team into a winner in 1 year. There's only one meaningful accomplishment in HBCU football and that's winning the Celebration Bowl. That seems to tickle the fancy of a bunch of people but that's fundamentally *not* how recruiting works. College recruiting is about hitting the pavement. Meeting coaches. Meeting players. Meeting parents. Connecting with people. Texting constantly. Staying in touch. Building relationships. Gaining trust. Selling a vision. Closing. He's not interested in doing any of that. Which is why most reasonable people didn't just assume that he'd be a good recruiter. The evidence strongly suggests that we were right. He sucks at it.
