We need a Weekly projected Folsom opponent update

ie, this weeknis

LAS    Narbonne (CA #13)

SDS   Torrey Pines (Ca #27)

SSD2. Upland (CA #9)

i thought upland was supposed to move up to D1 this year?

Upland should have been moved up but lost in the playoff last year. Narbonne should still walk through the LAS but that doesnt mean much. Money is on Upland, but my money was on them last year too.

The fact that they campaign to send such shitty teams to play one of our elite teams is laughable. All the while the top 10 teams besides MD sit at home looking at porn with Sammy.

Scary thing is MD is expected to also be sitting at home

still, there’s a huge drop off after those two with only CC from making it the Grand Canyon

the difference between socal #4 and Amy of those teams is much less than distance between socal #2 and 4

its hard to criticize socal because their SSD1 bracket is imho top bracket in country, but would be nice if NorCal and socal were in same page with respect to Open brackets

easy for socal to say “you don’t want a piece of SSD1 runner up” but:

— in most cases, the socal D1AA rep comparable to a SSD1 quarterfinalist

— I think NorCal would rather have a shot at better team in a no lose situation than the San diegonchamp in a no win situation

this can be remedied quite easily if the CIF uses their same rules as they do for basketball, and let "non Section champions" advance to the SBG.

The SJ section would oppose this vehemently though, and the "Pete Sacco" section has a lot of clout for some ungodly reason.

That rule is already in place

all SS has to do is Call SSD1 the SSOpen and rheyncan send runner up (only catch is it would be in lieu of some lower division champ)

i don’t necessarily like it but NCS started that a couple of years ago — invite top 4 teams to Open and rest stay in watered down D1, Open winner auto advances and runner up was selected each year over D1 champ

is it possible that SS would rather NOT send their runner up to play Devil?  Surely, the power brokers are aware of the rule

The Power brokers have already been defeated by the SJ section and Pete Sacco.

SoCal need to send the #2 to the D1 games and leave the San Diego schools for the lesser div games.

Imagine if we put all our best teams against each other and DLS or even a team like folsom got the nod, and we sent Sutter to the D1 bowl. retarded!

Lol 3-7. MD wins THEIR FIRST BOWL GAME EVER LAST YEAR, and these dudes act like they've always been here lol

Canyon beat DLS also in the state final so I think it’s 4 wins total. Either way DLS has had the better of SoCal up until the past few years.

PROJECT A MATCHUP

neutral field
[2017] Mission Viejo (CA) 31, [2017] Helix (La Mesa, CA) 22

neutral field
[2017] Centennial (Corona, CA) 42, [2017] Helix (La Mesa, CA) 28

Exactly

those would be quarter-final results

CC certainly a semi finalist projection, maybe MV
