When you factor Laklands best victory is vs. #275 Apokta and their overall opponents are negative 10 in won loss record, it appears that Lakeland went out of their way to schedule teams they though they could compete with.  That tells us all we need to know about the confidence Lakelands staff had in their team this year.

Why weren't the Fla big boys on the schedule?  At least MV and OLU play the big boy schools in Calif.  Lakeland not so much

Ah, finally, here we go. #275 according to who? Nobody. A calpreps computer that has been discredited for years as a means of comparing teams 2,500 miles apart with no common opponents and no common opponents of opponents (or twenty more chains away).

Manatee and Apopka have both played on the national stage and both on multiple occasions. They are known by everyone in the state and everyone with a pulse outside of it. Absolutely no reason to believe either was going to be a pushover. And either is. Both have one bad loss to teams they were huge favorites against. Otherwise they've been strong teams this season.

You speculating about Lakeland's coaches' confidence in the team is hilarious. You providing absolutely zero case justifying Mission Viejo being ranked ahead of Lakeland yet still maintaining they should be is also hilarious.

The vaild arguments against Lakeland are totally plausible...within a context of them being discussed for being ranked top 10 nationally. But, the fact that they don't show up in any top 25s or most top 50 rankings is an effing joke. At least if you try to do any sort of breakdown of the teams, their strengths, weaknesses etc. Football is still a game played on the field. If MV had to play Lakeland, they wouldn't be able to  just trot out some calpreps computer rankings. They'd actually have to try to block that front seven. Etc

I'm not claiming that MV or OLU would beat Lakeland, or that Lakeland would beat them or even Folsom.  Just that Lakeland chose to schedule down, and that allows for doubt to creep in.  Who will Lakeland face in the playoffs?

If they win out, Tampa Plant, Columbia, and STA. Or team(s) who beat those teams. IF, and it is of course a big if, they go 15-0 and knock off Plant, Columbia and STA, people will REALLY need to stroke those computer rankings to try to justify keeping Lakeland out of the top 5-10 nationally.

FYI, MV was penalized a ton last night. Some 15 yarders. This is something Sponge Bob wouldn't tolerate. Hell, he'd scream at QBs for throwing TD passes to the wrong read. They really play undisciplined football. That's all on CJ. He needs to learn to reign in his players. MV is too talented to lose to any SCL school, even San Clam.

Those who like to predict the brackets, does MV end up on the CC/MD side or the Bosco side of the bracket?

I assume Sjb gets 1 seed

MD or cc 2/3 interchangeably

the question is what seed MV gets? Someone said forfeits won’t impact seed.

Agreed if they run the table, they would be Top 10 at worst

We'll have a better sense once the CIF poll is released on Monday. MV losing really shakes things up. Previously, as a league #1 and the "5 seed" they would have been on SJB/Oaks side of the bracket.

MV shouldn’t be mentioned in the same breath as Folsom. Folsom would smack the shit out of them. Only teams in SoCal that could play with Folsom are SJB, MD, C10, and JSerra.

Folsom could have decided it on the field in 2015  at Sac , but they CHOKED on their own field against Bells. Fearing to have to play MV. Who were SHUTOUT by Mission Viejo a week later. Folsom has never beaten DLS. Folsom does not know what it feels like to defeat DLS at DLS and too take a knee in the redzone at home for the win. Folsom is just another NorCal baby seal slap dick notch in DLS's belt ( 3 notches ) LOL!!!!!!

2015 was Folsom’s worst team in recent memory. MV was much better than Folsom that year. Just like Folsom is much better than MV this year.
