There's tons of people on Facebook saying that nothing should happen to the kid and he should be able to continue playing, because it's an inner city school and the kids home life is probably in shambles

Maybe the Kids home is in Shambles and for that I feel bad and believe a mistake should warrant another opportunity....

However he Assaulted an Official with a Helmet during a “Game” and for that he should be arrested...

The Kid is out of control, what is next, a Teacher,  A Police officer?.... When does it end with these kids....

Throw the book at him and kick him off the team, there is no place in this world for a kid using a weapon to assault some elderly dude....

That is basically what this kid did... Even with “Struggles at Home” he should know that is not OK....

People on Facebook are Ridiculous....

Not that this matters in relation to the reaction here, but does anyone know what the ref was doing right before the kid head butted him? He looks to be signaling for the kid to get off the field. Was he the player that was just assessed the personal foul? Was he being ejected from the game?

And therein lies the problem today.  Just my $0.02 but we no longer seem to hold kids accountable for their actions and then seem as surprised as they are when they continue as adults until the hammer comes down hard.
