It is responsible to call it by the area of origin so people know where it came from and to be on high alert if they have traveled or have done business there. It actually should be called the Wuhan Chinese Virus. This is accurately describing the virus and helping people appropriately take action if any of their recent history included the Wuhan region or anywhere close to it. It's in the coronavirus family and is related to SARS but the only official name it has ever had is Covid-19. The WHO used a temporary name of 2019-nCoV acute respitory disease but they haven't changed it a dozen times. Even if they did, what they're calling it now is the official name.
