Is Calling COVID-19 The Chinese Virus Racist?

The origin of the virus is from China, making it a Chinese Virus by default.

It is responsible to call it by the area of origin so people know where it came from and to be on high alert if they have traveled or have done business there.

It actually should be called the Wuhan Chinese Virus. This is accurately describing the virus and helping people appropriately take action if any of their recent history included the Wuhan region or anywhere close to it.

When you are more upset that people are identifying it by the area of origin, than you are the government of that area suppressing vital info you need to go take a lap

Reasonable and responsible human beings will call it what the WHO calls it.

Right-wing loons will make-up names for it to gin up negative sentiment against a people and/or government that they hate.

All from January. Not one referring to it as the Chinese Virus.

It's not called the Chinese Virus for a reason. Those who do call it that now are doing it for obvious reasons.

I love when cocha plays dumb.

Apart from the ten examples that do.  🤡

And, yes, for obvious reasons. Like that it originated in China and originally entered the lexicon as such.

How do you feel carrying water for the Chinese Communist propaganda machine, Andy?

Oh, yeah.

Because that's what I'm doing by calling the virus by it's actual name and accurately describing your motives.

1) Yes

2) As in short for "Chinese Communist".  That's still how they describe themselves, isn't it, Andy?

But the WHO has changed the name a dozen times....

Say what?

It's in the coronavirus family and is related to SARS but the only official name it has ever had is Covid-19.

The WHO used a temporary name of 2019-nCoV acute respitory disease but they haven't changed it a dozen times.

Even if they did, what they're calling it now is the official name. Calling it Chinese Virus is so transparent as to be insulting to deny it.

When concha says that the media was calling it the Chinese Virus, Trump was calling it the Coronavirus.

But now when everybody is calling it by it's official name, Trump is calling is the Chinese Virus.

Why?

Because in January he didn't think it was a big deal and that it was "contained" but now that is a big deal he needs a scapegoat for his massive failures.

Certain people here will act incredulous but it's not hard to understand what they're doing.

Feb 24: The Coronavirus

Feb. 24: “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA… Stock Market starting to look very good to me!”

This comment was published on Trump’s Twitter account. On the same day, the White House asked Congress for $1.25 billion to help fund the government’s response to COVID-19 and stocks plummeted

I'm not saying they were saying  it, Andy. They were saying it. Period.

And I'm guessing it's being called by a number of different names now.

Andy is funny.  I've little doubt that he thought that the China travel restrictions were RACIST! and jumping the gun. Unless Andy can show us his criticism for the despicable reaction of the left to it, of course.

Oh, to have Andy the mail guy from the Florida unemployment bureau in charge.... 🤣

If anybody called Trump a racist for banning travel from China after the coronavirus become well-known then those people are morons.

🤡

concha = wrong about everything

In these trying times where everything is so fluid it's great to have something as reliable as concha being wrong to keep us all grounded.

So you were so fair-minded and on-the-ball at the time that you can no doubt share your posts about all this from back in January, rather than your CYA from a week ago?

Right, Andy?

🤣

I only have one post on the Chinese travel ban.

Just have balls for once in your life and admit that you were wrong.

Wrong about what, Andy?

That after the Dems were clearly exposed for their reprehensible reactions  to the China ban, you conveniently covered your ass weeks later?

That did happen.
