Sammyswordsman
This list improportionately rewards teams from the first half of the decade You should Keep such lists to 5 years max. Or go all the way to 50 years

Sammyswordsman
Also the list is skewed by "SBG appearances". In Nor Cal DLS and Folsom, simply getting in the playoffs = a SBG appearance.

golfaddict1
FL version @MC Rockets They missed listing STA with a national ranking in 2010 for sure. https://www.maxpreps.com/news/6vAOpW8ojEqenHaZgfuhEA/top-20-most-dominant-florida-high-school-football-programs-of-last-decade.htm
HurricaneNick
In the past two years DLS has only lost to MD, SJB, & STA. #1, #2, #3 teams in the country these last two years. DLS would make a deep deep run in every state’s playoff system too. Winning *most* states title game. If DLS is a “regional power” then 95% of the country can’t beat that “regional power” squad. 1

They would only win 60 yo 70% of state titles at highest class.

They are not a MNC contending team but I do think DLS is definitely top 10 in any state and better than a regional power.

Folsom! On a serious note, you’re right. No big wins for them recently, they need one. Hopefully at NS this year if that game is played. They’re not on the level of SJB, STA, MD, DV etc but they’re definitely better than the regional power they were labeled.

I would say Dela would have been even money GA Marrietta last season, most likely top 5 in Texas and possibly number 2 or 3 in FLA. In Ca. definitely 3rd. This leaves Maryland , and outside of SFA , they were equal with any other team imop. Doesn't mean they couldn't have lost, but chances of winning were very high. I would safely put Dela top 15 last season, and maybe top 10. Will never really know for sure. 3 1
Sammyswordsman
The premise of the OP is flawed. DLS hasn't been dominant at all in Calif for the past 6 years. They have been a top contender like several other programs, but that is all.

According to Massey’s, it appears De La Salle has only been bested by 13 different teams dating back to their amazing streak. Only 6 teams in the nation have 2 wins against De La Salle. Only 1 team holds a record 3 wins against them. How long since they’ve lost to any California team not named Mater Dei, Bosco or Cen10? How long has it been since they’ve lost to a northern California team? Are they viewed as less of a threat from struggling with OOS competitions or is it merely they haven’t figured out how to beat “Thing 1” or “Thing 2” yet? What De La Salle has done, I don’t believe anyone else in the nation would be able to. They’re rightfully deserving of that California spotlight. Maybe with some effort, Thing 1 & Thing 2 will finally be able to live up to the Spartan fame... ...but for now the Spartans own California.

A regional power to me is definitely not DLS. Just my opinion.
