It all depends on the school or school board rules but typically no if you have the credits to graduate you can't come back and just hang out for a year lol  . If you don't have the credits to graduate then yeah you can come back for a 5th year but you have to take enough courses to be a full time student.  Then it is up to the athletic association rules whether you are eligible to play or not.

Take Mater Dei for exams, they’re whole senior class wasn’t allowed to play football and ruined any chances of getting a scholarship, there should be an exemption that you can repeat

NJSIAA By-Laws

J. Semester of Eligibility:

1. No student shall be eligible for high school athletics after the expiration of eight consecutive semesters following his/her entrance into the 9th grade. A student becomes ineligible for high school athletics when the class in which he/she was originally enrolled has graduated.

The Mater Dei seniors should inquire about matriculating at stellar programs like CAI, BS, IMG, LCA, SFA, etc. If they’re talented enough to play at said teams, that is. Any interested ballers can DM me for the key contacts info at each.

If you are a senior and still have no offers then the writing is on the wall.

I would guess he would be applying for a hardship waiver due to covid. It will be interesting to see what associations grant them for covid. I don't see NJSIAA giving the waivers, kid is probably pipe dreaming.

I think it opens up a can NJsssa doesn’t want open,   U let one kid reclassify, ur gonna have all these kids that didn’t get the high D1 offer they wanted ,repeating

Well.. you would have to purposely fail to do that.  We are talking about kids that would be coming back for a 5th year because of failing required classes for graduation anyway then requesting a waiver hearing to the athletic association to be eligible to play a 5th year claiming that covid caused them to fail or whatever. it will never fly,. They only give those waivers to kids who get really sick or injured to the point they couldn't attend school and of course they could not play either,, These kids played their 4th year so I don't see any way they would get approved unless they got covid themselves and couldn't attend school or play

Well Dusty Devauns cousin is telling kids in Newark NJ they can do just that

They didn't give the spring season an exception so why should football get it?

Nah, that’s soft, no 5th year HS seniors around here. We’ll let the dog shit coaches like Biff poggi reclassify all his players, we don’t need to. Rollo has all the connections in the world to get those kids a shot and has worked tirelessly this year to set up the seniors in the best situation possible. We went all digital with the recruiting on an app and got tape and vitals out to every college coach in the country. We’ve also been able to practice so colleges are seeing these kids go against each other in practice. MD practices are more competitive than the games. That being said not everyone is D1 material. He would never recommend staying a 5th year in high school, we don’t do that pussy scam sycamore/soft frances/micropenisgsb stuff. What happened to the seniors this year with covid is horrible. Gavin newsom is a punk, but when you wear the stripes you’re ready for whatever life throws at you. #Thebestprograminthenation

The reality is that a lot of athletes got screwed because this country was led by morons who didn't take the virus seriously until they either could capitalize on it for personal gain or were just so damn stupid that they let the virus get out of control before trying to fix it

This country is ran by a bunch of dumbfucks and a lot of kids who did nothing to deserve this crap treatment took the brunt of it

People including kids get messed over all the time for a very wide variety of reasons.  Nothing is guaranteed.

There are about 490,000 dead people that took the brunt of it to say nothing of the people that have life altering health issues.  Let's not forget about the people that have lost everything financially.  No, the kids did not take the brunt of it.  Were they affected, sure.  But there were a whole lot of people that had it way worse.

Assume name??? Wat u talking about Willis

COF Academy and Bishop Sycamore High School gave fake names to known local players and deliberately altered the spelling of other post graduate players on their roster hoping they wouldn't be found out.

Competing under an assumed name also makes you ineligible under NCAA rules so they really screwed those kids over.

Oh, and BSHS Athletic Director "David Brown" doesn't exist either.

The difference is you can't stop the loss of human life or the financial impact of a serious pandemic but it could have been handled better to not screw over the athletes, in no way am I minimizing the loss of human life but if they could have been flexible enough to do a football season which is probably the biggest risk from this virus  then you won't be able to convince me that this country handled the situation back in the spring well

The issue is this country was being run by a bunch of old rich jackasses who had no plan

I also could go into the loss of human life but this is a football discussion, if I wanted to go forward into that I would venture back over to that dump OT section

There is only one legislation that were all aware of. Many kids are announcing there reclassifying and plan on announcing a prep school in a few weeks. I don’t know if that’s what there planing on doing but as of right now that’s the only option to reclassify in NJ.

per further investigation the Bridge program only applies to Spring sports athletes who lost the whole season.  It is a three year program to cycle through so players who hold pack don't disenfranchise the ones that would be starting this year... Someone at West Side is confused.. unless there has been new legislation that has not been made public

A prep school has always been around there has always 5th year HS, like Avon  Bridgington Princeton prep, Phillip exter , Blair academy

these kids I’m talking about are reclassifying and staying at the same HS
